Greetings!

See no evil

Hail to the King? Not any more. Now it has become "Hail is King!"  Yes, it's that time of year when the big storms (hail, wind and tornadoes) start showing up in all parts of the country. Are you ready for storm season?

While have to deal with OSHA and the new safety rules and regulations for steep slope roofing and crane operation, valuable selling time is being loss. Couple that with with researching Factory Mutual Global (FMG), Underwriters Laboratory (UL) tests and building code changes, you are spending way to much time in the office. Now, on top of all of that, add-in trying to determine the various differences in insurance companies and their roofing requirements, you need some fast and timely help.

My suggestion, don't rack your brain on the hard stuff, just call or email  the appropriate manufacturer's technical support department. They are knowledgeable and ready to assist you with questions about codes, FMG and UL approvals, impact resistance (Class III or IV testing and Severe Hail (SH) approvals), general concerns, preexisting conditions and specific applications.

Have a safe and healthy roofing season,

Danny Bryson, Mike Nelson and Eric Penyock
(you can decide who looks like who)

Malarkey SBS Shingles-Looks, Performance and Savings

The Legacy® provides a durable barrier against extreme weather receiving the UL 2218 Class 4 Impact Resistance classification, the highest rating possible. In a Class 4 rating test, the Legacy® withstood a simulation of hailstones impacting a roof at 90 mph (144 kph) without sustaining damage.

Malarkey's revolutionary Legacy® shingle technology begins with a durable base layer of fiberglass mat. Malarkey's unique fiberglass mat is coated on both sides with the SBS modified rubber asphalt which provides tensile strength and increased flexibility, protecting your investment.

The rubberizing aspect of SBS increases flexibility and weatherability for your roof. The thermo cycling resilience of SBS modified asphalt provides greater granule adhesion for the shingle to create a better barrier from the elements. When granules stay on the shingles, your roof lasts longer.
