Bridget Pross
|
Originally from Southern Tasmania, Bridget Pross is now based in Melbourne. Writing original music and publicly performing since the age of 15, Bridget has supported a number of high profile local and international acts, including Joe Cocker, Lior, Josh Pyke, John Butler Trio, Renee Geyer, Tex Perkins, Brian Cadd, Russell Morris, Indigo Girls, Ian Moss, Leo Kottke and many more. She has also performed at Falls Festival, Byron Bay's Bluesfest and Tasmania's Southern Roots Festival. Her debut album I Wanted To was released in February 2008 and is distributed through MGM. Recorded in Miami, it demonstrates both her rich, earthy voice and a honest, subtle song writing style. Little Sister, the first single from I Wanted To, was released in October '07, scoring Single of the Week in Melbourne's Inpress Magazine, with Clem Bastow calling her a "captivating new presence". Queensland's Rave Magazine said of Little Sister "there are still a few women writing music and one of them deserving your attention is Bridget Pross... It's a fine indication of things to come". Bridget applied and won the Apra Song Summit competition this year to be held in Sydney 19th-21st June. This was a three day event, filled with workshops from every aspect of the music industry, from management through to song writing. A recent appearance on Neighbours, where Bridget performed a rendition of her original song, Dragon Lady, sees this talented songstress reaching even larger audiences as a measure of things to come.
Enjoy listening to Bridget perform while having Breakfast/Lunch or a fine coffee and homemade cakes.
