New fire chief Chris Carleton gives overview

At the third special meeting in a row, chief Carleton explained the status of emergency medical service in Point Roberts to another full room of concerned residents.

The September issue of the All Point Bulletin hits mail boxes and stores tomorrow. What to expect...

* The latest development in the controversial sacking of fire chief Nick Kiniski, the Point's only resident paramedic.

* How efforts to close unsafe trails and return them to native vegetation are finding resistance from locals who want to keep their old trails open.

* How a group is attempting to geo-locate and preserve heritage apple varieties on the Point, many of which cannot be now bought commercially.

* Meet Point Robert's resident soprano, Vyna Restell.

* And, of course, much more.
