DIGIVATIONS NASA Mini-Academy: August 18-21 and 25-28,11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Ages 9-15. Point Roberts Community Center. Registration is $120 for each four-day session, single day pass available for $30. Scholarships available by emailing anne@digivations.com. Students will have fun learning about commercial space, designing rockets and comparing Earth and space eco-systems. Students who attend all four days will prepare business plans, build robots and create their own commercial space rocket companies. Younger children may attend if accompanied by an adult. Household Hazardous Waste Collection: Saturday, August 25, 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Point Roberts Solid Waste Transfer Station, 2005 Johnson Road. Bring your household hazardous waste, including oil based paints, solvents, aerosol cans, garden chemicals, motor oil, antifreeze, gasoline, fluorescent lamps, and other hazardous products. No latex paint, asbestos, biomedical waste, ammunition, explosives, waste in drums, radioactive waste or unapproved business waste.
