Happy Second Retirement!



It was standing room only as friends and family poured into the Point Roberts community center on June 30 to celebrate the retirement of Ed and Virginia Lester from the Point Roberts Clinic.

Point Roberts Garden Club Ticket Sale: Tickets are now on sale and can be bought at Nielson's Building Center, 391 Tyee Drive, the Blue Heron Gallery, 1360 Gulf Road, and Harris Nursery, Ladner Trunk Road and 12th Avenue locations in Delta. Digivations LEGO PLUS ARTS Workshops:

Brewster's Backyard Movie Night and Crab & Steak BBQ: Saturday, July 14. Dinner starts at 6 p.m. and runs to 9 p.m. Movie, "Ghostbusters," starts at dusk. Entry to the movie by donation; 100 percent of proceeds go to build the library fund. $20 per person for the dinner with children's meals available. Point Roberts Garden Club Tour:
Sunday, July 15, gardens open at 10 a.m. and close at 4 p.m. Tickets: $15, children younger than 12 years old are free. Self-guided walking tour of nine private gardens in Point Roberts. More info: www.pointrobertsgardenclub.org.

 

Wellbrook Winery Summerfest: Saturday, July 21, 10:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.  Ladner Trunk Road and 88th Avenue. Featuring Classic Car and Motor Show, Blueberry Festival and Outdoor Market. Live music by "The Centaurs," BBQ, wine tasting, blueberry pie eating contest,  the Delta model railway display, giant kid's zone with bouncy castles, giant maze and pony rides.
