Kendor Avenue tree vandal sought

In early January this tree on Kendor Avenue was vandalized by someone using a chainsaw to remove several limbs as well as girding the trunk. The property owners are asking anyone with information on the vandalism to contact sheriff's deputy Glen Slick at 360/945-2733.
PR water district meeting rescheduled to tonight

The Point Roberts water district will hold their regular February meeting tonight, February 9, starting at 5 p.m.

This meeting will take the place of the February 14 meeting and will be held at the water district offices at 79 Tyee Drive, Suite A.
Wine, chocolate tasting to benefit Sudanese slaves

Point Roberts resident Annelle Norman is hosting a wine and chocolate tasting at Brewster's Fine Foods to raise money for South Sudanese slaves.

The event, set for tonight, Thursday, February 9, will feature tasting platters for $14 with all proceeds going to Christian Solidarity International (CSI). CSI works to help South Sudanese who have been taken from their homes and transported to northern Sudan to work as slave labor.

The event will also feature a silent auction and Valentines for sale. Festivities start at 6 p.m. at Brewster's Fine Foods. For more information, contact Norman at 360/945-5070.
