Greetings!

Spring is around the corner, finally!  In many locations, its been a good winter to hide out from the storms - ice and snow and sleet and freezing rain and cloudy and cold and windy...  oh my!  With the days lengthening (at least in the northern hemisphere) and an occasional peek of sun shining through, its a good time to think about goals, where you are, and what actions are best to be taking to get you there from here.  And speaking of rabbits...

If you chase two rabbits, both will escape.
Not that I am a rabbit chaser or anything

Your ability to deliver sets you apart far more than your ability to promise.  Which rabbit are you chasing - the Value Proposition you promise, or the Value Proposition you deliver?  How aligned are they?

Every day, each of us arises from slumber to face the day.  What do we bring to it?   Our Value Proposition.  How have you defined the value you bring to your clients, colleagues, spouse/partner, children, community...?  How clear is your Value Proposition - to you and to them?  Regardless of what you've defined, the one you are delivering now is your real one, at least for now.  Is it the one you want?

Though no one can go back and make a brand new start, anyone can start from now and make a brand new ending.   Nothing changes until something changes, and for something to change, usually someone has to change.

What do you want to change?  What and how are YOU willing to change?

Email me or call/txt me 732-535-1768 and lets talk about it.  You do have possibilities, and they are endless!!!  Lets get your new Value Proposition defined and put into action.

I don't know what I want and I'm willing to put you through hell to get it.

Have you ever had a manager like that?  I've had a few of them in my working life.  They didn't know what they wanted, and there you were, jumping backwards through hoops trying to get it for them.

How do you stack up?  As a leader, how are you speaking for your vision and desired results?  How are you engaging your team in the process of setting goals and action plans?

I've done an exercise several times for clients, interviewing their team or direct reports, asked them what the top three goals were of this team.  The results were, um, quite interesting.  In each instance, less than half of those interviewed could list the top three most important goals that their leader was sure, absolutelypositvelywithoutfailsure, he had communicated.

Goal alignment - agreement among the members of the team - is critical for your success.  Leaders work on this all the time.  And then they work on it some more.

What work do you need to do to get members of your team aligned to your vision and most important goals?

Is this your time for quantum leap success?  We are here to help you make that happen. Contact us at Larry Hayes Partners and lets get started.

Why should you have a coach?
The CEO of Google says so

"Everybody requires a coach. Every famous athlete, every famous performer has someone who is their coach - someone who can ask 'Is that what you really mean?' and provide them perspective. The thing individuals are not necessarily proficient at is seeing themselves as others see them. A coach really, really helps." - Eric Schmidt, CEO of Google

As a very successful CEO, why would someone like Eric Schmidt claim that he requires a coach and thus, why would you?  I see executives every  day who make incredible strides forward toward their goals by using a professional coach.  Their jobs are inspiring, and  I am honored to be their partner to make those strides.  But a number of you might still wonder what a coach could do for you personally and why you need to invest in a coach for yourself.

Over the next few newsletters, we'll list the top 10 reasons to have a coach.  This month is #1 and #2:

1.    Your coach is there for you personally - your vision, your goals.  Your coach supports your business energy, while defining next steps.

2.    Your coach helps you get clarity around your goals, be inspired by them and what they mean for you, and create focus inside your busy world.

Next month will be #3 and #4.
