Greetings!

The holidays are upon us and many are wrapping up their business year.  If its been a good (or even great) one, there is lots to give thanks for.  If its been less than great, there is lots to give thanks for.  Warm wishes from us at Larry Hayes Partners for a (belated) Happy Hanukkah, a (belated) blessed Al-Hijira and a Merry Christmas.  And a Happy, Successful, Wonderful New Year!

How did we get here?
We created it, we promoted or we allowed it.
Its been an interesting week here in coachland.  I've had two clients say to me "something's gotta change".  They were reflecting on this year's progress, and where they were lagging (despite my attempts to goad them to reflect on successes).

As the conversation unfolded, I asked them to reflect on exactly what they
themselves had created  - the goals, the action steps, the implementation, the focus. They were interesting discussions.  And then I asked them to discuss what ideas of others they had adopted and promoted for themselves. Again, interesting discussions.  Finally, I asked them to be honest about what they had merely allowed or tolerated, to their detriment.  Oh my, did the discussion get rich!  It is interesting to me, as a coach, to hear what people merely allow or tolerate without addressing it and attempting to resolve it for the better.

So, my probing questions to you in this cold month of December (at least here in cold, snowy, beautiful Ohio), is WHAT ARE YOU CREATING for yourself?  WHAT ideas from others ARE YOU PROMOTING for your benefit?  And lastly, WHAT ARE YOU MERELY ALLOWING OR TOLERATING and what do you plan to do about it?  Email me or txt me 732-535-1768 and lets talk about it.  The possibilities for your success are endless!!!

And speaking of change...

Nothing changes until something changes, and for someTHING to change, usually someONE has to change.  What do you want to change for YOU in the new year?  What and How are YOU willing to change?  Coaching helps you get very clear - laser-focused - on goals, then examine options and possibilities to achieve your goals- the benefits, risks, costs and obstacles, build action steps and then take action and measure results.

Worried about getting started?  I recently read an article about worrying.  An interesting concept came out of it.  Dallas businessman and overall motivational guy Fred Smith asks the question "A year ago, what were you worrying about?"  Most people can't even begin to answer that question - they don't remember!  Why?  Because what they were worrying about never came about.  Fred says "The average worrier is 92% inefficient - only 8% of what we worry about ever comes true."  Charles Spurgeon says it well: "Today's anxiety does not empty tomorrow of its sorrow, but only empties today of its strength."

What are you worried about today?  With a 92% probability, it won't won't come to pass.  Are those odds good enough for you to quit worrying and take action?

Progress and change are not without cost.  Neither are sitting still and maintaining an unacceptable status quo.  The cost of sitting still is always greater than the cost of making progress.

Is 2011 your year for quantum leap success?  Contact us at Larry Hayes Partners and lets get started.  May 2011 be your best year ever!  We are here to help you make that happen.
