June 2010 Newsletter

Hello!

What you don't know can hurt you.  And in the case of emergency lighting, there is a standard issued by the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) that you should be aware of:

"The National Fire Protection Association (NFPAŽ) has written Life Safety Code (NFPA 101) that defines the requirements for emergency lighting for means of egress.  The standard requires that emergency illumination shall be provided for not less than 90 minutes in the event of a failure of normal lighting.  Installation and testing requirements are written in the National Electric Code (NFPA 70)."

Today's newsletter talks about how Staco Energy can help you meet that standard with our emergency lighting solutions.

Thank you for your continued interest!

Don't Be Left in the Dark on Emergency Lighting

Are you in the dark when it comes to emergency lighting?  With the Staco FirstLineŽ central lighting inverter, you can rest assured that your personnel will have the lighting they need in the event of a power failure.

That's because the FirstLineŽ 924 automatically supports the connected lighting loads - providing power without interruption for a full 90 minutes.  When the utility power returns to normal, FirstLineŽ 924 automatically recharges the batteries to be ready for the next power disturbance.

This three-phase system will support three-phase or single phase loads.  Thanks to the true-online double-conversion technology, the FirstLineŽ 924 outputs a true sine wave with continuous no-break operation.  A compact, freestanding steel enclosure provides front and top service access for easy maintenance, along with an LCD front panel display for control and monitoring. All FirstLineŽ products are backed by an industry "on-site" warranty.

Additionally, the FirstLineŽ 924 protects the connected load from the AC primary supply, protecting it from damaging sags, swells, harmonics, noise, voltage imbalances and interruptions (blackouts). In addition to meeting life safety requirements, the FirstLineŽ 924 also can increase the life expectancy of the protected lighting and reduce long-term cost of ownership.

Single point operations allow simplified testing and recordkeeping.  Simplified service reduces overall cost of ownership.  Virtually all lighting types are supported, including:
  • Incandescent
  • Magnetic and electronic fluorescent ballasts
  • High power factor compact fluorescent
  • High Intensity Discharge (HID)
  • High Pressure Sodium (HPS)
  • Metal Halide (MH)
With a variety of user-friendly features and benefits, the FirstLineŽ 924 is ideal for use in many types of facilities including:
  • Public buildings
  • Theaters
  • Schools
  • Parking garages
  • Housing complexes
  • Manufacturing facilities
  • Office buildings
  • And more!
