Greetings from the Chairperson
Welcome to the sixth edition of Hoofbeats and Heartbeats
We trust June will bring warmer weather our way and with that long enjoyable days for all those taking part in program events at Whitemud. I want to thank the staff and management under Sylvia Erickson for running, despite inclement weather, two successful shows in May. Thank you to all the sponsors and competitors - we hope to see you again next year.
In May, the Board completed its strategic plan that sets the stage and guides the future path of our organization.
Little Bits winds up for the summer. We greatly appreciate the long relationship that we have had and the commitments they continue to make to Whitemud in helping us to move ahead, we look forward to you being part of that future.
Our lesson programs hold their summer show at the end of June - good luck to all the students. Everyone is welcome to come out and watch.
On Father's Day we will be hosting a bar-b-que with musical entertainment at the historic Keillor cottage. Tickets are available through the office or the website.
June 24th the site will host Twilight in the Meadows, a social networking event.
Our Redevelopment Steering Committee has been dedicated over the past year in delivering a Business Case and a Fundraising Feasibility Study. Thank you to that group for their superb contributions. By fall, the Business case should be reviewed and approved by the City of Edmonton and we will have set up a committee to oversee fundraising activities.
Regards, Linda Olson-Lipinski Chairperson Whitemud Equine Learning Centre Association

Lesson Horse Profile
FLOSSY
Flossy is a Bay Quarterhorse mare. She was born in 1980 which makes her 30 years old. When she first came to Whitemud, she was young enough to walk/trot/canter and do small jumps, which she really enjoyed. Now that she is older, Flossy works in the on-lead classes. She also enjoys being our favorite "touch and grooming" horse for beginners and training students in both the NAIT Animal Technician Program and the Equine Massage/Chiropractic Courses. Flossy is kind and will stand patiently for students as they learn their skills. However, her favorite activity is going for walks outside with the Little Bits programs.
