Hard to believe but Rendezvous Royale week is upon us. A full year of hard work by hundreds of people comes together in a celebration of the arts.

Cody High Style, Boot Scoot'N Boogie, the Buffalo Bill Art Show and Sale and the Patron's Ball at the BBHC offer art, fashion and museum enthusiasts, visitors and residents alike a chance to enjoy one of the best weeks of the year in Cody.

If you haven't volunteered yet, there are still opportunities to get involved and help bring these events together. Call us here at the Chamber (587-2777) and we'll get you plugged in right away! For more information click HERE.

If you can't wait for next week, there's a great opportunity to enjoy downtown Cody on Friday evening with the "Chair Stroll" from 5-7 p.m. TONIGHT at participating Boot Scoot'N Boogie merchants.

Speaking of Fall, back by popular demand is the "Harvest of Savings" guide, produced in partnership by The Cody Enterprise and the Cody Country Chamber of Commerce. Ads are $170 for a full page or $100 for a half page and the deadline to reserve space is October 3. For more information, call your ad rep at The Cody Enterprise at 587-2231. Advertising in this book is an exclusive benefit to Cody Chamber members!

If you're interested in receiving regional and national economic news, the Federal Reserve Bank of Kansas City - Denver Branch will be hosting a series of economic forums Wednesday, September 19 from 11 a.m. - 2 p.m. at the Holiday Inn. This forum consists of presentations by Federal Reserve policy advisers about key regional issues and national trends as well as an update on monetary policy objectives and concerns. There is no cost to attend, but registration is required (you should have received an invitation directly from them.) Please follow this LINK for more information.

Shifting gears, if want more information about Shoshone National Forest's draft forest plan a public meeting will be held here in Cody, Monday, September 24th from 5-7 p.m. at Big Horn Federal Savings Bank, 1701 Stampede Ave.

A big thanks to Denise and Brian Wiegand, owners of Bubba's Bar-B-Que and their staff for the outstanding c2b (Cody Business Breakfast) we had last week. We had our largest group yet. We'll do it again, Friday, October 5th. I'll announce the location soon.

If you like vintage motorcycles, there's a great opportunity to see approximately 75, pre-1930 motorcycles in Cody this Sunday, September 16th from about noon-2 p.m. at The Irma as the "Motorcycle Cannonball Endurance Run" makes a lunch stop in Cody. Find more information about the unique cross-country race HERE.

Finally, I'm always impressed with the way our members take care of people who visit us. Here is a note we recently received:

Dear Cody,

I wanted to thank all the people of Cody for being so kind to us on our recent Yellowstone/Teton adventure. We traveled out West from Wisconsin, and our van blew a gasket 30 miles east of Cody.

From all of those at the Cody Super 8 (Dave gave us a complimentary pass to the parks), to the tow truck driver, the vehicle rental people at the airport, the woman at the visitor's center who gave us expert advice for the parks, the gang at Technical Cowboy Auto, and Matt at Midway Auto Sales (who sold us a nice vehicle to get us home), everyone went above and beyond for us. We have never encountered such a nice group of people.

Largely because of the people of Cody, we had a wonderful vacation in spite of our van troubles. You helped us turn a vacation lemon into lemonade.

Thank you so much,
The Doughertys

Pretty much sums up how we do things around here.

Have a great weekend everyone and see you at Rendezvous Royale Events next week.
