Shadow Days at Fairmont Prep
This month, our 8th graders are invited to participate in a special Shadow Day opportunity at Fairmont Preparatory Academy! Shadow Days help our 8th graders prepare for high school by experiencing a day in the life of a Fairmont Prep student. On your student's scheduled Shadow Day, you will drop him or her off at Fairmont Prep at 7:45am. Then your student will participate in a full day of classes at Fairmont Prep accompanied by a classmate with similar interests and a trained Fairmont Prep Student Ambassador. You are encouraged to stay after drop-off and have a personally guided tour around the Fairmont Prep campus with Admissions Director Christine Steele. She will be happy to answer any of your questions. At the end of the day, you may return and pick up your student Fairmont Prep at 2:35pm.

The dates of your student's visit will be organized by his or her junior high. They will send you notice of the original date scheduled for your student. You will be able to make adjustments directly with the junior high. Our 8th graders will hear more information and have the chance to register for Shadow Days in their homerooms. Please encourage them to take advantage of this unique opportunity!

Meet the Preschool Teachers

Preschool Teachers 2012

Ms. James, Ms. Crandell, and Mrs. Brown

Caitlin James

I have been working in the Preschool classroom as an Aide at Fairmont Private School for three years. I absolutely love being with the children and watching them learn and grow every year. The love these children express is priceless. In my free time I enjoy spending time with my friends and family, as well as relaxing and watching a few of my favorite TV shows. One of my favorite quotes is by Helen Keller, "Alone we can do so little; together we can do so much."

Candice Marie Crandell

I have been teaching preschool at Fairmont Private School for 10

years. I love teaching this age because they are developmentally ready
for academics but they still need hands-on activities. They grow so
much during this preschool year and I am happy to be a part of that. I
enjoy challenging the children to be the best that they can be and
encouraging them to challenge themselves. When I have free time I
enjoy drawing, painting and reading. My favorite quote is by one of my
favorite female role models, physicist Marie Currie because it
expresses the importance of altruism.

"You cannot hope to build a better world without improving the
individuals. To that end each of us must work for his own improvement,
and at the same time share a general responsibility for all humanity,
our particular duty being to aid those to whom we think we can be most
useful" Marie Currie

Linda Brown

I am so excited to be teaching P4 this year. Early Childhood Education is my passion. I have taught preschool for 26 years. My favorite thing about teaching preschool is seeing the wonder in a child's eyes as they discover the world around them. When I'm not in the classroom, I enjoy the beach. My husband and I enjoy traveling. We have traveled to many tropical places. My favorite quote is from my Grandmother. I was always loud and busy as a child. She would look at me and say, "You are too much candy for a nickel." As an adult I understood what she meant. I would quote her often as I raised my own children.
