Most of our families have already re-enrolled and we thank you so much for turning in your contacts. In order to reach our next goal of 85%, we are asking that those who have not re-enrolled do so right away. If we reach this goal we will have our re-enrollment carnival celebration this upcoming Friday, April 6th. We will celebrate with bounce houses, music, popcorn, and jumbo slides for students to enjoy!

1st Grade to the Ocean Institute1st to Ocean Institute 2012

First Grade visited the Ocean Institute on Wednesday, March 28th in Dana Point.

This exciting new program addresses the physics of things that "Push and Pull!" Onboard and around a historic tall ship, students use scientific investigation to explore the properties of movement and force using simple machines. Students have the opportunity to experience how a simple machine can make work easier as they raise a sail, conduct halyard races, hoist cargo, and roll barrels up an inclined plane. Afterwards the students went to Tustin Sports Park for lunch and play.

Shape Photo 2012
The 4th grade students in Miss Bradley's math class each created a plot of land for the city of Shapeopolis.  Topic 14 in the enVisions MATH curriculum is Solids. In this topic students learned how to name solids, find the surface area of a solid, and find the volume of a solid.  The 4th graders first planned out their plot of land as a one dimensional drawing, they then used nets, a plan figure which, when folded, gives a solid figure, to bring it to life as a three- dimensional city.
