Your Participation Requested for Fairmont's
Annual Parent Survey

Dear Parents:

You should have received an invitation to complete an online school survey. If you have not received that email, please let the office know so we can email it to you. We really value your input and hope that all of you will take some time to complete the survey. As an encouragement for you to do so, we will be offering your child a free dress pass if you complete the online survey. Your child will bring home a survey completion form for you to sign signifying that you have completed the form. Your child should return the completed survey form to her/his homeroom teacher so s/he can keep a record. Once the survey closes on March 31st, we will select a free dress day and let the students, whose parents completed the survey, know what day the free dress day is.

Thanks in advance for your participation!

World Spelling DayWorld Spelling Flier

Hello Ms. Sandy Cosgrove,

It was pleasure meeting with you and Mr. Chandler during 1st grade parent's meeting at Edgewood campus in the month of Jan.

We would like to share our experience with World Spelling Day 2011 contest held on March 3rd. This was an intuitive spelling contest for students and an opportunity to compete with millions of students around the globe. Ameya has achieved a "Platinum Award" in the World Spelling Day 2011 contest for Team United States (individual category) in 4-7 years age group. However, we just missed the deadline to enroll for the World Math Day 2011 contest.

This is an annual event and the World Spelling / Math Day contest also provides an opportunity for the school to compete with thousands of schools worldwide. Some other schools from Orange County have also participated in this contest.

Have a wonderful weekend!

Regards,
Parents of Ameya Singh
Prem & Jyotsna

Aferschool Supervision Improvements

Edgewood's new afterschool supervision improvements have drastically improved. Our afterschool program has been very organized and safe for every student. We would like to remind all parents of the following:

  • When you pickup your student from school, they must remain with you. The playground is closed until 3:45 pm.
  • The bikes and trikes are only for Preschool thru Kindergarten students.

Thank you.

The Golden Ticket
 DJ and Diana

This week's  Good Character winner was DJ Callahan.
It seems DJ and Mrs. Kaneski have something in common: We both love Jalapeņo's.  Crunchy tacos for me, cheese quesadilla for DJ.
DJ earned  more than 1 ticket this week and we were both thrilled when his ticket was drawn. Thank you DJ for putting the needs of others ahead of yours, for always doing your best, and most of all, for just being YOU!
I wonder who will be the next student to show good character, kindness toward others and respect for their teacher, other students and themselves.
I can't wait to find out!!

My name is Maria Aleman, and I have been working at Edgewood for 14 years. I am part of the Student Services team and really enjoy working with kids and all the staff here at Edgewood. I was born and raised in Cuba. On October 15, 1960, I left Cuba, moved to Miami Florida, where I was married and lived for 2 years, then moved to Garden Grove, California in 1962. I have two sons, three grandkids, and one great grandbaby. My hobbies are dancing, traveling, and going to the movies. What I enjoy most about Fairmont is seeing the kids everyday.
