Toy Drive for CHOC
CHOC
Monday, Nov. 15th - Friday, Dec. 10th

The spirit of the holiday season is underway and it's time for our 11th Annual Toy Drive starting Monday, Nov. 15th, and ending Friday, Dec. 10th. This event is sponsored by the Character Development Department at the Edgewood Campus and is our fourth year in participating. With appreciation to all who participate, we are asking all our families to help us by donating a toy for a boy or girl who is in CHOC - Children's Hospital of Orange County. These children would truly benefit from receiving a special gift on Christmas morning and all year long.

Due to infection control and in order to protect the patients, the toys MUST be NEW and UNWRAPPED. We are unable to send USED toys to the hospital. The toys will be picked up at school by one of our business office staff people, Judy Coderre, and her friends from the Orange Coast Harley Davidson's Chapter. They will come to the Edgewood Campus on Friday, December 10th from 11:40-12:15 pm via motorcycles to pick up the toys.

If you would like to donate toys to a patient at CHOC, please drop off at your child's classroom now till the December 10th. Thank you in advance for your kindness and generosity.

If you have any questions or concerns, please contact

1st Grade Diwali Presentation
 Diwali Presentation
A big thank you to Mrs. Khurana, Mrs. Chaturvedi, Mrs. Cavale, and Mrs. Trivedi who gave a colorful and delicious presentation about the Indian celebration of Diwali!  We delighted in the stunning photographs of this colorful celebration on the Promethean board, which brought the tradition alive!  The first graders learned about this lovely celebration and saw their classmates, mothers, and Mrs. Brown dress in traditional Indian clothing.  We also sampled Indian treats!

Ed Williamson, Fifth Grade Teacher

Ed WilliamsonI made my entrance into this world almost fifty years ago in San Diego County. Though I lay no claim to fame, I will share a few tidbits about myself. I am a native born Californian who grew up in north San Diego County. I attended high school at San Pasqual Academy, graduating in 1979. I pursued my undergraduate degree at Loma Linda University, La Sierra Campus where I earned my BA in Liberal Arts in 1983. I completed my teacher training in 1984.

I reside in Tustin, within walking distance of the school. I am married to my wonderful wife, Debbie, who is also a teacher. My wife and I have two grown children and one grandchild. Adding spunk and joy to our household are a MinPin and a Long-haired Chihuahua. In addition to playing music, I enjoy movies, attending plays, going to the symphony, and watching sports, especially the Angels and Lakers. I enjoy a good dinner at a fine restaurant every now and then, though I probably should enjoy this a bit less until there is a bit less of me.

Growing up, I played some baseball and basketball, and I played basketball on my high school and college teams. Music was an important part of my life and continues to be to this day. I began studying piano at nine. At San Pasqual Academy, which was a 7th Day Adventist high school, I studied organ for 4 years. I am currently a member of the American Guild of Organists, and I continue to play for various churches in Southern California.

I have been teaching elementary school for 25 years, and I have been at Edgewood teaching 5th grade since 1996. In addition to my teaching duties, I also coach DSL flag football and basketball. I enjoy my career immensely, and I feel truly blessed to be a part of the faculty here at Edgewood.
