TCS Inaugurates Center in Minnesota

On  September 14, TCS inaugurated its newest facility in Bloomington, MN. The TCS Solutions Center-Minneapolis, a 50,000 sq ft facility, will be home to roughly 300 employees. 

 

N Chandrasekaran, chief executive officer and managing director, TCS said, "Over the past few years, Minnesota has put an emphasis on technological innovation that aligns with TCS's breadth of industry expertise, innovative engineering strength and commitment to providing cutting-edge solutions, and will only enhance the scope and scale of our customer offerings in North America."

 

"We are very excited and deeply grateful that Tata Consultancy Services has decided to expand its operations in Minnesota," said Governor Mark Dayton. Tata Starbucks to Launch First Indian Store. Will Locally Source and Roast Espresso.

Tata Starbucks, the 50/50 joint venture between Starbucks Coffee Company and Tata Global Beverages will launch its first store in India in the Horniman Circle area of Mumbai late this month.

 

The store will be the first Starbucks location to feature Indian sourced and roasted espresso. This is through the coffee sourcing and roasting agreement with Tata Coffee. Locally sourced espresso will be the hallmark feature of all Starbucks stores in India, highlighting Tata Starbucks' commitment to delivering a truly unique and authentic Starbucks Experience to customers throughout India.

 

"....Being able to use the highest quality espresso, sourced and roasted in India, is an important part of delivering a locally relevant experience to our customers in the market", said John Culver, president, Starbucks China and Asia Pacific. "This is the first step Starbucks and Tata Coffee are taking toward developing and improving the profile of Indian-grown arabica coffees around the world, by elevating the stature of Indian coffee as well as improving the quality of coffee through sustainable practices." Read more.

Tata Companies Partner with WNBA's New York Liberty to Encourage a Love of Sports and Reading
Liberty Legend Kym Hampton with Tata volunteers and children from local schools.
On September 22,  volunteers from Tata Sons, TCS, Tata Chemicals North America, Tata Global Beverages, Taj Hotels Resorts and Palaces and Tata Communications participated in on-court activities with the Women's National Basketball Association's New York Liberty and elementary school students as part of their partnership  to benefit the team's Libs4Kids charitable program. The partnership provided 400 children from schools in low-income areas throughout New York and New Jersey with tickets to  New York Liberty's game at the Prudential Center in Newark, NJ. Before the game, the students interacted with players, including  Liberty legend Kym Hampton, who led them in a mini exercise routine. Also participating were 100 volunteers from Tata as well as the children's guardians.  Additionally, through their national partnership with the award-winning non-profit organization First Book,  TCS, Taj Hotels Resorts and Palaces, Tata Global Beverages and Tata Interactive Systems, will donate new books to every student at each participating Libs4Kids school. The program supports Tata's objective of promoting education, including training on the topics of health and wellness

The Pierre, A Taj Hotel to Open Sirio Ristorante in New York

In October 2012, The Maccioni Group and The Pierre, A Taj Hotel, New York will open Sirio Ristorante New York. The restaurant, named after legendary restaurateur Sirio Maccioni and designed by Adam D. Tihany, will be the sister restaurant to Sirio Ristorante at the Aria Resort & Casino in Las Vegas, and part of the Maccioni Group of restaurants that includes Le Cirque and Circo. Sirio is no stranger to The Pierre, A Taj Hotel, as the hotel is where he opened La For�t lounge, restaurant and nightclub in 1972 and directed their operations for two years, just prior to opening Le Cirque in 1974.

 

"We are looking forward to welcoming Sirio Maccioni back to The Pierre, A Taj Hotel with the opening of Sirio Ristorante New York," said General Manager Heiko Kuenstle of The Pierre, A Taj Hotel.
