Tata and Lockheed Martin form JV to Manufacture Aero-structures

Tata Advanced Systems, which provides integrated solutions for aerospace, defense, homeland security and disaster management, announced a JV with Lockheed Martin Corporation to manufacture aero-structures. The products manufactured through the venture, Tata Lockheed Martin Aerostructures, will be integrated by Lockheed Martin for its global C-130 aircraft customers. Lockheed Martin's state-of-the-art C-130J military transport aircraft is used by the Indian Air Force and a number of nations including the United States, Australia, Canada, Denmark, Italy, Norway and the UK.

"We are very proud of our association with Lockheed Martin and believe it will raise the level of capability of the aerospace industry in India as also complement the efforts of our defense public sector undertakings,'' said Ratan Tata, chairman, Tata Sons.' 


"This partnership is established as a strategic element of our global supply chain and solidifies our presence in India,'' said Ralph D Heath, Lockheed Martin executive vice president, aeronautics.

Tata Companies Support Energy Program for Children in Ohio

TBSS Employee VolunteersThrough partnership of the Foundation for Appalachian Ohio and the Tata group of companies, students of Putnam Elementary in Marietta, Ohio recently welcomed COSI On Wheels into their schools for hands-on science exploration, participating in the Investigating Energy program. COSI On Wheels, a traveling outreach program of Columbus's Center of Science and Industry (COSI), engages students in a dynamic opening assembly and interactive science activities aligning with the Ohio Academic Content Standards and complementing the National Science Education Standards.

Services' employees from Washington County - Hemant Lavania, Fouzia Lavania, Mark Erb, Christy Rice, Asia Mathess, Nathan Driscoll, and Donna Williams - join COSI's Dr. Kilowatt and Putnam Elementary students in testing conductors, learning about wind and water power, and comparing energy usage of household appliances. Putnam Elementary's Principal Finley welcomed students, parents, and visitors to the school to experience COSI and thanked Tata for bringing this opportunity to Putnam students.
