Tata Technologies Hiring in Detroit

Tata Technologies is looking to hire 400 automotive engineering professionals at its North American headquarters outside of Detroit, Michigan. Thousands applied during the two-day job fair on December 9 and 10. CNN covered the story. Watch here.

Tata Advanced Systems and Sikorsky Unveil First Sikorsky S-92 Helicopter Cabin Made in India

As part of the 2009 joint venture between Tata Advanced Systems and Sikorsky, the helicopter manufacturer's S-92 cabins will now be produced in Hyderabad. The cabins are currently manufactured in Japan. The Hyderabad production facility is located in the aviation special economic zone (SEZ).  

Chairman Ratan Tata said, "The delivery of the Sikorsky S-92 cabin is on schedule and an important milestone for Tata's plans for the aerospace industry. It also reflects highly on the determination, project execution and precision manufacturing expertise that India as a nation possesses." Read more.

Tata Steel Europe and Tata Sons Join with First BookŪ: Gift 10,000 Books to Ohio 
On November 16, Tata Sons and Tata Steel Europe joined with First BookŪ and the students of the Willard K-8 Elementary School in Warren, Ohio for lively reading activities. Building on Tata's national partnership with First BookŪ, an award winning social enterprise, the reading party kicked off a donation of 10,000 books throughout Ohio. Since 2007 Tata companies and First BookŪ have donated over 100,000 brand new books to low income children throughout the United States. Read more.

Tata Power recently held an Executive Briefing Program at MIT for 16 of its top executives. The program focused on the technical, social and economic aspects of future technologies in the field of energy and resources. It featured interactive sessions with experts and field visits to key facilities and technology demonstration sites. The program also  provided the Tata Power leaders a peek into the future mega-trends in food, healthcare, housing and transportation sectors that will shape business and the economy in the future.
