CampfireTALKMay 2011  -  Week 1

Greetings!

MAY is upon us, and with that the end of school is rapidly approaching!  My youngest son, for one, is counting the days!  And what of summer?  What are your plans?  Camping?  A summer vacation?  Barbeque in the yard?  Or maybe working on the yard and landscaping?

Whatever you are planning for fun this summer, remember those around you who maybe do not have family, or parents living ... reach out and show yourself 'friendly' to others!  After all, everybody needs a friend!

And while you are planning your "fun" events, set aside a Monday evening, or even a Sunday morning to head out to the Williamson County Cowboy Church in Liberty Hill, Texas!  And while you're there, tell pastor Corey Ross that I said "Howdy"!!

Make me proud!

Health Tips!

Exercise ... it's what our bodies need, and want!  It's a "workout" for us, but for your body it's what they were designed for!

As you get around 40 or so, your body's metabolism begins to slow down, and as this happens, you begin to "get fat" on the same things you have been able to eat for years!  It's like all of a sudden you are going "blimp"!  What happened?

LIFE.  Life happened, and you now have to make some changes ... in what you eat, what you drink (more water), and in your activities!

In a nutshell, as you get older ... you have to "fight" for life!  That's right!  You literally have to work hard at keeping yourself in-shape!  Otherwise, you will begin to look like all of those other older folks who have that "bloated" look about them.  You know the scene ... thicker neck, fatter face, and for us guys ... bulging bellies!  Uggggh!!!  But THAT is what happens when you DON'T get out and work out, play hard, camp, hike, ride your bike, etc.  You have to make a choice ... LIVE YOUR LIFE just like the kids do, at least in the being "active" part!  It's either that or start looking like an old fart!  Better yet, and "old FAT fart".  Not me!  And you don't have to either ... just get to working out, watching what you eat ... and DRINK THAT WATER!!

Make me proud!

A Word from pastor Richbanner - WORD CHURCH -(sm).jpg

How do those you work with perceive you?
Are you friendly?  Teachable?  Helpful?  Do they want to include you in their conversations?  Are they interested in what you have to say?  How about you?

It's very important how you interact with those you work with.  It's called your "social interaction".  How you deal with people.  I can be the world's worst, when it comes to people in the workplace.  Why?  Because I get so focused on what I'm doing that I forget about the little things ... the things that are important in relationships.

Learn to, as Mac Davis used to put it ... "Stop!  ... and smell the roses."

Make me proud!
