Greetings!
April, a month of "new beginnings", and also the beginning of the 2nd quarter of the year! What plans have you made to accomplish in this year? What progress have you made thus far? Measure it! In management, there is a saying that you need to remember:
" If you can't measure it, you can't manage it!"
So, measure it ... by the month, or by the quarter ... hold yourself accountable and watch for ... or yet, "expect" ... results!

Health Tips! Have you ever stepped on the scale in the bathroom and get a surprise when you saw how much you've gained? Well, I've got a question for you ... something to consider.
Was that extra weight gain really a surprise ... really?
I didn't think so! You see, when we are actively "doing" what we all KNOW we need to do ... to lose that weight, then we "know" deep down inside where we stand. By the same token, when we step on the scales after a week of compromise and pitiful attempts at exercise, I think it is safe to say that we "KNOW" the news is NOT going to be good, when we step on the scales! In fact, often when I step on the scales, I know what I am going to weight before I even step onboard! It's true!
I think it's time to ask yourself a serious, honest question: Do I really want to lose this weight? And if your answer is "Yes!", then ask yourself, "How serious am I about losing it?"
I like to hear Kenneth Copeland when he talks about making a decision that lasts. He calls this a "firm and quality decision"! Folks, we NEED to make a firm and a quality decision ... about our weight situation. It is "NOT" going to go away without some serious work! And if you're serious about losing it, then you've got to stop "playing" and GET SERIOUS!

A Word from pastor Rich Last weekend I got a chance to visit with my niece, Samantha. She's about the age of my youngest son, and has the sweetest disposition. She is respectful, considerate and responsible. She is also a competition horseback rider, and a responsible student!
We were visiting for the weekend, and I got a chance to visit with her Sunday morning before church, as she did the various chores around the property.
Her mom travels a good deal, with her job, so Samantha helps take care of the horses and chickens, while she is away. She's very responsible! While we talked we fed the horses, wrapped the legs on a couple, fed the chickens, and then moved the horses around and tossed out some hay for them to graze on later in the day.
What impressed me so much, though, is that we talked. We conversed. She carried on intelligent conversation, sharing with me about her acting class in school (they're going to State competition this year!), about her courses and studies, and even about her riding competition. She made me feel special, because it was important to her to me, to visit ... with me? It made me feel awesome!
People need to feel special! So ask yourself who YOU made feel "really special" today? Who in your arena of life can you lift up, and encourage, and show yourself friendly to? Jesus said this about it, "Greater love hath no man, that he lay down his life for his friend." There are many applications of that phrase, but I think the most important one is this:
When you set aside a portion of your time, and your life, to take that time to visit and to share, to "be there" for someone ... "that" ... is love!
