Greetings!
March begins a new month and brings to an end, the 1st quarter of this new year of 2012! If you didn't think the year was going by fast, think again! What plans have you made? What goals? What accomplishments thus far?
Dreamers accomplish the impossible. Those who do not dream, don't.
If you want something you've never had, you have GOT TO DO something that you have never done ... GET BUSY and see God work on your behalf!
Our classes at the St. Philip's Methodist Church come to a close as the 4 weeks of March are the last of the 8-week course on "Let Me Introduce You To My Father". This class has been mostly discussion, and is largely very different from any teaching I have done. Usually I'm into the Word and it's more like a small preaching service, with instruction.
Nevertheless, I know we are on-track! One of the many things we discussed in the meeting was the very topic of question in the service last Sunday morning! It is obvious that people want to know, "What do I do when I get up and I do not feel like the Christian I know I am?"
In our classes, the answer was, "sit down before Daddy's feet and tell him about it. Time with The Father will change that!

Let's Go Camping!  My wife and my family, and 'me' too, are all going camping this Spring Break! If you are someone who loves camping, drop us a line and join us! We could make it a big Family of God type of Camp Meeting thing! We've already had some takers ... come and join us, and let's have some fun! Spring Break is March 12th thru the 16th, in our area at least. Jane and I are planning to take the family camping from Thursday, the 15th, returning on Saturday afternoon, the 17th. At this time, our plans are to camp at KRAUSE SPRINGS in the Spicewood Texas area, not far from what we in this area know as "Paleface Park". They have showers and restroom facilities, and even a swimming pool, waterfall, swimming hole, and just about all of the things you'd want at a wonderful family atmosphere campground ... except hot water. Yes, the showers are 68degrees (F), just like the spring-fed swimming pool and swimming hole, folks. As my ole friend Elton Krause always put it to me (with a big smile on his face), "it's ... freshing"! Hope to see you there! A Word from pastor Rich
This past week, at the meetings in our home, we discussed "The Armor of God", found in Ephesians chapter 6, starting with verse 10.
This is excellent teaching, by the way ...
We talked about putting on our armor each and every day, when we rise, as we prepare for the day!
You know I've known this for years, but for some reason I just stopped doing it! All you have to do is to stand in front of the mirror and shout out, in faith ...
I girt my loins with truth - I put on the breastplate of righteousness - I shod my feet with the preparation of the Gospel of Peach!
I place upon my head, the helmet of salvation, and I take up the shield of faith. Having taken out my sword of the spirit, which is the living Word of God, I pray and I interceed for the Saints at all times! I stand, Sir, ready for battle and for victory in Jesus name!
Do this the next time you start your day and watch for a difference ...

Margarett ParkerMargarett, associate pastor, is also director of foreign missions. She is licensed and ordained, and has earned her BA in Biblical & Theological Studies as well. Pastor Margarett recently traveled to Kenya, on her own, and ministered to hundreds while there! |
