CampfireTALKFebruary 2011  -  Week 3

Greetings!

Meetings were cancelled last week, mainly due to a misunderstanding I had with the St. Philip's Wednesday services.  The reason the meeting last Wednesday was cancelled, is actually "this week".  <sad face>  Sorry guys, again, no meeting at St. Philips this Wednesday evening at 6:15am.

However, we ARE meeting on Thursday evenings in our home!  That meeting is "ON" folks!  Yes, Thursday evenings at 7:00pm 'til 8:00pm, in our home just a few blocks from St. Philips at:  15612 Poynette Place, Austin Texas 78717.

I just got back from my "Walk to Emmaus", and I - am - "pumped"!!!
If you've never been on "a walk", you need to go on one of these!!  They have them both for men, and for women!  For you men and women in ministry, it's a time to get "ministered TO", and yet you'll get ample opportunities to minister to those around you, from time-to-time.  But the primary purpose is for YOU to have some time to renew, refresh, and gain new levels of your relationship with your Father, the Creator of all of Heaven and Earth!

Hopefully, I'll get to write some to you later about some of my experiences there.  Until then, "de colores"!

May me proud!

It's Camping Season! banner - WORD CHURCH -(sm).jpg

My wife and my family, and 'me' too, are all going camping this Spring Break!  If you are someone who loves camping, drop us a line and join us!  We could make it a big Family of God type of Camp Meeting thing!

Spring Break is March 12th thru the 16th, in our area at least.  Jane and I are planning to take the family camping on Thursday, the 15th, and return on Saturday afternoon, the 17th.  At this time, our plans are to camp at KRAUSE SPRINGS in the Spicewood Texas area, not far from what we in this area know as "Paleface Park".  They have showers and restroom facilities, and even a swimming pool, waterfall, swimming hole, and just about all of the things you'd want at a wonderful family atmosphere campground ... except hot water.  Yes, the showers are 68degrees (F), just like the spring-fed swimming pool and swimming hole, folks.  As my ole friend Elton Krause always put it to me (with a big smile on his face), "it's ... freshing"!

Hope to see you there!

A Word from pastor Richbanner - WORD CHURCH -(sm).jpg

Why did God create us?  Why did He make man?  What was His purpose for my life, we often find ourselves asking?  I mean this "is" GOD, the Creator of all of Heaven and Earth ... why would He be so interested in mankind?  ... or even me, personally?

Well, the answer to that one is a simple, and yet clear resounding, "It's because He loves us."

Did you know that God "loves" you?  I don't mean some sort of candy sugar-coated nursery rhyme type of John 3:16 message you migh there in a church somewhere ... but GOD really does ... LOVE ... "you"!  And John 3:16 is more powerful than you will ever imagine ... when you finally grasp that!

God's love is the greatest thing that has ever happened to me!  There are times in my life when I am upset, challenged, tried, and ... really riding the fence towards just plain giving up!  ... but GOD!

When I am ready to throw in the towel and just walk away from it all ... my Big Brother Jesus steps in and I can hear His comforting voice, "Rich, let's get in the Jeep and go for a ride and talk", or "Hey, check out that trail!  Let's go explore it together, and visit for a while".  He is always my "Man-in-the-corner" when I'm in the ring.  When the challenge is ON, I can hear Jesus just outside the ropes, cheering me on ... "Give 'em that left jab we talk about!!  Show 'em the right hook you and I worked on yesterday!  Don't let 'em get the best of you ... STAND UP and show 'em what a King's Kid is made of Bro!!"  He IS my biggest fan!!

And you have got to realize that about you!  When you open your eyes each and every day, Jesus turns to the Father and says something like, "He's up!  Excuse me Dad while I go and watch ... I just KNOW he's going to make me so proud today!  I can feel it!"  or maybe, "Dad, she's awake!  Watch this!  I want you to see the fight this girl has in her ... the ability to overcome so much, and end up on top!"

The next time you feel like you're walking alone, or maybe in the midst of a battle you find yourself thinking, "Do God really even know I'm going through this?", stop!  All you have to do is take a deep breath, pause (for effect), and then softly say, "Jesus ... " and ALL OF HEAVEN IS LISTENING!!  That's right, when you say that name, you have the attention of your guardian angel, the angels there with you on assignment for your particular situation, and even God Himself!  They're just hanging on your next word!!

Make it a good one!

Make me proud!
