A Word from pastor Rich
Have you ever seen those funny Viking commercials where these brutish guys are all over the place and getting in peoples faces, asking them the question, "What's in your wallet?"
Well, I'd like to ask you the same question ... with a bit of a twist! "What's in your heart?"
The Bible tells us that a man speaks out of the abundance of that which fills his heart! In other words, whatever you meditate on, whatever you listen to and talk about ... "that" is what is going to come out! Especially in a time of crisis!
Suppose you find yourself in a near death situation and suddenly you are faced with, in an instance, something you'd never dreamed you'd see! And the next thing you know, your whole mind just freezes up!! Nothing! You can say absolutely "no-thing!" Why is this?
It's because of what you meditate on! You see, when your mind gets to a situation where it can't handle things, it throws it up to the spirit! Your spirit man is actually the boss! You (the spirit) call the shots! YOU tell the body what to do, and what to think, and when your body gets into a crisis, it has no way or means of handling that situation, so it hands it off to your spirit!
If your spirit has nothing in it but "Days of Our Lives" (soap operas), or the latest episode of some TV sitcom, then guess what's going to come out?
You guessed it!
I remember a preacher telling me one time of a woman who had been attending a Believer's Convention. She had been going all week, and had been meditating the Word of God in every meeting, as she heard the Word of God preached! So, her spirit man was full of the Word of God, and of Faith!!
Well, she entered her hotel room one afternoon, to get ready for the evenings meetings. She got undressed and hopped into the shower. Suddenly, she sensed someone in there with her! She turned to find a man who had followed her and had broken into her room! He, I'm sure, had every intention of raping her that afternoon, but do you know what happened?
This woman, who had spent the past few days, just getting "saturated" with the Living Word of God, was so full of His Word and so full of Faith in God's promises, that this woman pointed her finger at that man and began to poke him in the chest as she began to say things in a boldness she never knew she had within her!! He was totally dumbfounded!! She shouted at him, "WHO DO YOU THINK YOU ARE TO RAISE YOUR HAND AGAINST A DAUGHTER OF THE MOST HIGH GOD? AND JUST WHO DO YOU THINK YOU ARE TO STAND BEFORE 'ME' THIS WAY, AND TRY TO PUT MY LIFE IN JEOPARDY?"
This guy began to back up ... he didn't quite know what to do!!
She continued, "IN THE NAME OF JESUS CHRIST OF NAZARETH, YOU 'GET OUT' OF HERE NOW!!!" and this man ripped the curtain off of the rod as he made every physical effort to get out of that bathroom, and that hotel room, with all the strength that his body could muster up!!
But what if that woman had just been there shopping, and entertaining herself with the TV each night? "Oh, I couldn't do what she did!" you may say. OH YES YOU CAN!! But you've got to spend time in the presence of God to get there!
How do you get there? You get into the WORD! Turn off that TV! Turn off the radio! Yes, even your Christian music! You don't need "candy" right now, you've got to have some good, wholesome, power-of-God-enriched "WORD"! THAT is what your spirit man needs to overcome! And in addition to that ... you need some serious "Daddy time"! Get somewhere quiet ... somewhere that you can be alone, and get before God and just sit in His presence. Cry, if you have to. Laugh. Tell Him all about it ... it's not like He doesn't know already! But He wants to help you to feel better, to be refreshed, and to be re-vitalized with the POWER of His Word and of His anointing, just from being in His presence! So, pick yourself up! YOU ARE A SON (or DAUGHTER) of the MOST HIGH GOD!!
Let God's Word emblazen your spirit with the POWER of His Love ... in you!!
