CampfireTALK is going thru changes, like many of you, and we are playing around formats and layouts to make them easier to read an digest, whether you are using UNIX, LINUX, Mac OS/X, Windows, or any other OS.
We are also considering the viewability of these for smartphones!

A Word from pastor Rich
Do you ever find yourself feeling depressed? Do you sometimes feel like you're not wanted, or in the way where others are concerned?
Well, I've been there too! I've felt that maybe I was just in the way, because things were not going the way I had thought they would, or should ... but do you know what I learned?
I learned that "you" are precious to God! YOU are so precious to Him, and it really does not matter what others may or may not think ... all that matters is what "Daddy" thinks! So, if you're going through one of those slumps, I tell you now, in the name of Jesus ... "snap out of it"!
When you smell smoke, you know there's "fire"! When you heard the garbage cans being knocked around, you know you've got "bears" in the back yard! And when you start feeling sorry about yourself, and sad, and hopeless, you've got "devils" in your neighborhood!
You heard me right! If you're feeling that way, you've got a devil! He's hanging around, whispering in your ear, trying to make you think that nobody wants you, that nobody cares, or that you have missed your calling and nobody appreciates you! And, if you buy into that, you'll start speaking in line with that bunk and the next thing you know, you've given the devil "open doors" to come in and plunder your life! That's right, he's out to take you down, man! And if you don't watch out, he'll kill you! Yes, I said "kill you"! The devil wants you to give up hope, and to become hopelessly depressed, so that you will confess things that stop your angels (from acting on your faith) and things that will open up doors and loopholes for the devil and his demons to come in and begin to set you up for failure ... and eventually the ultimate failure!
Well, pastor, what do I do?
You get into the WORD! Turn off that TV! Turn off the radio! Yes, even your Christian music! You don't need "candy" right now, you've got to have some good, wholesome, power-of-God-enriched "WORD"! THAT is what your spirit man needs to overcome! And in addition to that ... you need some serious "Daddy time"! Get somewhere quiet ... somewhere that you can be alone, and get before God and just sit in His presence. Cry, if you have to. Laugh. Tell Him all about it ... it's not like He doesn't know already! But He wants to help you to feel better, to be refreshed, and to be re-vitalized with the POWER of His Word and of His anointing, just from being in His presence! So, pick yourself up! YOU ARE A SON (or DAUGHTER) of the MOST HIGH GOD!!
Let God's Word emblazen your spirit with the POWER of His Love ... in you!!
Make me proud!

 Rich & Jane Allcorn Rich & Jane, sr. pastors of WORD CHURCH, are both licensed and ordained, and have their BA in Biblical & Theological Studies.  Margarett ParkerMargarett, associate pastor, is also director of foreign missions. She is licensed and ordained, and has earned her BA in Biblical & Theological Studies as well. Pastor Margarett recently traveled to Kenya, on her own, and ministered to hundreds while there! |
