When the Rains Come ...

by pastor Rich

As Autumn comes, and the leaves start to fall, it finally cools off, and we prepare for the coming rains.   Now thanks to the heat, the leaves are "already" falling off, and it's NOT because of the arrival of Fall.  It's because they are literally "starving" for water!

When it rains, we often complain, because it's an inconvenience at the time, but given the past summer we begin to realize just how important that rain is!

In spiritual things, water is likened to the Holy Spirt, and rains are often an indicator of the outpouring of God's Spirit upon man.   So let me ask you a personal question:   When was the last time you spent some quality time, on your knees before the Father?

Now, I'm not talking about the Mike Warnke prayers where you come sliding up to the bed on your knees, already in the position and scream out in a blood curdling yell, "Godddddddddd!"  No, those prayers of desperation rarely get us results.  I'm talking about getting off by yourself, and praying something like this:

"Father, I just wanted to take some time and ... well, 'hang out' with You, if that's ok?  I often get busy and I miss these times when we're just ... just 'here' ... together.  I just want to be in your presence ... and listen to what You have to say."

The Bible tells us that "faith" comes by hearing, and hearing by the Word of God.  When the Father speaks, what are you hearing?  the Words of the Father!  So, if you are in His presence, and fellowshipping with Him, what is the results going to be?  Right!  Your spiritual batteries are going to be totally charged and primed with the power from God's anointing, just by being there with Him!  The Bible calls this "the washing ... by the water of the Word".  In other words, YOU ... are "cleansed" by the presence and the power of just being with God, and hearing what HE has to say!

Now you notice I said, "Hearing"?  That requires that you ... well, to put it bluntly, "shut up"!  Ever try and talk with someone and you get 'em started and they won't "shut up"!!  Well, view yourself when you get before God.  If you don't do it very often, you're probably nervous, and it shows.  But if you'll learn to just relax, and be quiet before Him, the peace that you will come to know is by far better than anything you ever imagined!  It's like walking in a Spring rain!  It's refreshing!  It will strengthen you, and rejuvenate your spirit man, just like the rains rejuvenate the plants, the trees and the grass!

Remember the "dry season" we all had recently?  Well, you are having one right now, if you have not been fellowshipping with the Father!  And the only way to fix that is to "turn on the water"!  Open up the pipe ... of His presence!

Make me proud!

Intercessors

Y
We are now beginning to have folks interested in being a part of meetings.

They're asking if we are meeting, and if not, "when" they ask?

We have therefore decided to set up weekly Intercessory Prayer Group meetings.  These will meet on a weekly basis, and we will take things further from that point.

Prayer is the key to starting,  and maintaining, any ministry.  We believe this is a good place to begin ... again.

These first meetings will be a little teaching, but mostly based upon prayer, intercessory prayer and on spiritual warfare.  We believe this is the first step in building the foundation for a local fellowship, and then a church.

Are you interested?
We would like to hear from you!

Look for the return of CampfireTALK during the weeks of October 2011 ...

Remember what God says
"For I know the plans I have for you", says the Lord. "They are plans for good and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope."      [Jeremiah 29:11 - TLB]

about the Pastor
Pastor Rich

About me:
I'm a hopeless romantic! I write poetry, short stories, and songs. I love rainy and foggy days. (sorry, that's me) I like to take walks with my wife through nature, go camping with her in the outdoors, and take my Jeep and go places we really can't go in a normal car. I can't wait for us to get a motorcycle! We both love to ride!

I love to sit in the woods and listen to the raindrops after a rain as they slowly drip from the leaves, in the quiet of the woods.

My feelings run deep - really deep. My values are true, solid, black-and-white. My commitments are true, as well. I am a believer in "absolutes"! When I am your friend, there are no "grey areas" with me - you're my friend - period. That survives all attacks, all obstacles, and all that we may go through.

I'm not perfect, but my beliefs are solid, deep-rooted, and of honor and character. These are what keep me grounded, as a friend, and as a person ... and they're what bring me back when I stray or fall short. My wife is that way too. I guess that's why we are such a perfect match!

about Jane:
She's that sparkle in my eye, the twinkle in my smile, the dance in my step, the hop in my walk, and the object of my affections!

We go camping together, Jeeping together, traveling together, and we even work out together! When we go out in public together, I climb over 2 notches on the social scale just because I'm seen in public with her!

We like much of the same foods, so we cook together and compare recipes. We learn from one another. She's my pal, my friend, my lover, and my partner in life.  We even do Weight Watchers together!   We've been called that "Mad About You" couple you've seen on TV! When we minister together, it's obvious that we "belong"!

I believed God for Jane. She was a "special order", I assure you! He put things in her personality, her physique, and her walk ... all the things about her are things God knew that I wanted and needed!  She is His expression of love, to me!
