G3 Circle
We are very pleased to introduce our new Growing Great Girls Circle. The G3 Circle celebrates individual donors who make annual, cumulative gifts of $1,000 and more. We "inaugurated" the Growing Great Girls Circle in January with a cocktail party for new members at the Polo Grill, hosted by G3 members Jaymie and Tommy Klauber. Benefits of membership include social events, special opportunities to meet our girls and personalized communications - and, best of all, the opportunity to make a significant difference in the life of a little girl. Gifts can be made by check, transfer of securities, or monthly by credit card. If you would like to join the 92 members of the Growing Great Girls Circle, please contact Sue Seiter, Director of Development, at 941-366-6646, ext. 227 or sue@girlsincsrq.org.

Girls in Mediation
Conflict resolution is a skill every adult should have...but at Girls Inc. we believe every girl should possess those skills as early as 5 years old. The process to bring mediation into the Center began in December and was led by professional mediator Greg Hoffmann and professional arbitrator Beverly Fertig. Several representatives from the

Girls involved in the dispute pay with Micro dollars for the mediation and must reach a consensus for the mediation to be successful. If the girls reach an impass then the dispute is sent into arbitration where a panel of three girls will hear from both sides and make the ultimate recommendation.
Valuable tools for the girls to take into their homes, schools and one day work environment! MicroSociety businesses were the first trained in the process. Then girls from the WSSB televsion studio created a training video for the entire student body to watch and learn about the process. |
"Girls Get the Message" is a great opportunity for a parent and their girl to understand media messages and how they impact girl's lives. This morning program, delivered by Girls Inc. trained staff, features an opporunity for girls to learn with the adult in their life. Keynote speaker Elyse Neiman, supervising producer, MTV "Made" will discuss her role in making media messages.
