| Greetings!
The last month has been busy for CGA as we prepare for the 2010 legislative session. Your Board of Directors has been identifying potential legislative and regulatory issues which may surface after January 13, 2010 when the General Assembly convenes. Some of the issues we see on the horizon is another attempt by the horsebreeders to put slot machines at Arapahoe Park and off-track betting facilities as well as some other attempts to expand gaming geographically. We are also working with Colorado leadership on the Colorado Department of Revenue's recent attempts to tax "comp" hotel rooms in the casinos. We are in the process of forming our 2010 legislative committee to work with the CGA staff and lobbyists on these and other issues. |

Don Marostica Speaks to CGA Members
Don Marostica, former state representative and the new director for the Colorado Office of Economic Development, spoke to CGA members at the October 30 membership meeting in Black Hawk. Mr. Marostica said that his office is working to bring new jobs to Colorado, and said that he has asked the governor and the Joint Budget Committee not to cut the state's $15 million tourism budget for next year, as it's important in a recession to bring visitors to the state. Mr. Marostica said he would help the industry advocate for a seat on the state's tourism board, and asked the industry for statistics on employment, promotions and marketing, specifically in light of the new Amendment 50 regulatory changes.
