Baptism Celebration Day

Sunday, September 30

Join us for an exciting and inspirational Sunday as we join together with thousands of others across our nation that will be celebrating the baptism of new believers in the faith. Baptism Celebration Day has been a longtime SBC tradition that God has honored as we believers have responded in obedience to share the good news of Jesus Christ and baptize those that are being saved. Along with the celebration of baptism we will all gather at the Blue Angel Naval Recreation Area for our annual picnic.

PICNIC & BAPTISM IN THE BAY

Mark your calendars for our Picnic & Baptism in the Bay on September 30th @ 1:00 PM at the Blue Angel Recreational Park. The menu will be hamburgers and hot dogs with all the trimmings along with drinks. The cost is $5.00 for adults / $3.00 for children 10 and under. The park entrance fee has been paid. Please pay in advance by either giving your reservation form and money to Cami Simmons in the finance office, or by placing it in the offering plate. Checks need to be made payable to MGBC (Write PICNIC on the memo line.)

THE LORD'S SUPPER

Sunday September 30, in both morning services, we will honor the sacrifice of our Lord Jesus through the celebration of the supper that He established as a time of remembrance. Following the morning worship services, the church will gather at Blue Angel Naval Recreational Park at 1:00pm for a picnic and Baptism in the Bay.

Reality 3

                                    God's Invitation

2          John 14:21

3          Genesis 22:1-18

4          The Seven Realities of Experiencing God

1        God is always at work around you.

2        God pursues a continuing love relationship with you.

3        God invites you to become involved with Him in His   work.

4        God speaks by the Holy Spirit through the Bible, prayer, circumstances, and thechurch to reveal Himself and His purpose.

5        God's invitation will lead you to a crisis of belief that requires faith and action.

6        You must make adjustments in your life to join God in what He is doing.

7        You come to know God by experience as you obey Him.

5          The Meaning in This Mystery

"Under a table down on the floor

some long forgotten lost puzzle piece all by itself

just colored cardboard with shades of blue and a few gold streaks.

Are they daises at sun rise or some bright shooting star?

Maybe fireworks over the sea

Yet when I see the grand design, it's amazing.

I find there's meaning in this mystery."

From Experiencing God Music for Knowing and Doing the Will of God 1999, Star Song Records

6          Obedience is the outward expression of your love for God. The reward for obedience and love is that He will show Himself to you. A love relationship with God requires that you demonstrate your love by obedience. Obedience is the outward expression of your love for God.

            John 14:21

7          God's commands are designed to guide you to life's very best. You will not obey Him,        however, if you do not believe Him and trust Him. You cannot believe Him if you do not love Him. You cannot love Him unless you know Him.

8          "If God ever asks you to do something,

He will enable you to do it!"            Henry Blackaby
