On the road again...
VIRGINIA MISSION TRIP
In just a few short days a mission team from Myrtle Grove Baptist Church will be going to Glenvar, Virginia (near Roanoke) to help carry out the Great Commission. We will be going into the neighborhoods talking with people about Christ, encouraging them to become a part of Green Hill Baptist Church in Glenvar and in general making a mark for Christ. We hope to conduct Vacation Bible School (VBS), distribute literature about GHBC, witness using FAITH literature, conduct neighborhood surveys, do prayer walking, and construction service projects.
Our team of fifteen will arrive in Virginia on Sunday, July 24, for orientation and a kick-off dinner. Our goal will be to accomplish as much as possible in four short days (Monday through Thursday). Some will leave Friday returning home and others will stay for the Sunday service, the first official service for Green Hill Baptist Church. What an exciting time and an exciting opportunity we have to help in starting a new church for Christ.
How can you help:
Pray: First and foremost, pray for our mission team. Pray that God will keep us safe and direct our paths. Pray that He will lead us in activities that will bring honor to Him.
Donate: We need financial resources to carry out VBS, buy Bibles, door hangers, literature, and other items needed.
Contribute: One can contribute food items for our team and VBS. These could include home baked cookies, pies, etc. Consider the traveling conditions, heat and time frame when planning the food
Participate in Church-wide Luncheon: Today, after morning services we will have a church luncheon in the FLC. Cost will be $7.50 for adults, and $3.50 for children. Profits will go to support the mission trip. Our very own Lorna Browning will be preparing the food. Thanks Lorna!
Other: See our display in the FLC today for other needed items
