MGBC members are encouraged to:

1.         Complete the Harvest Card by listing names of persons you are praying for who need salvation.  Members are encouraged to get the word out and invite family, friends, neighbors, co-workers and others to the Strength Team Event, February 2-6.

2.         Organize home prayer meetings within your Sunday School/Bible Fellowship Groups; asking individual members to open their homes for a one-hour time of prayer for the Strength Team Event.

3.         Spread the Strength Team Event schedule and information on the internet, (Facebook, Twitter, etc.).

Altar Counselor Training for the Strength Team Event  4:30pm - Fellowship Hall 

All men and women who have signed up to be decision counselors, please plan to attend.  All Strength Team Leadership plan to meet January 23 at 4:30pm.  

 Church-wide visitation beginsTuesday, January 18 at 6pm.  We will meet in the fellowship hall.   We want to encourage as many of our adult members to gather with us at this time so that we can get the word out concerning our upcoming Strength Team Event.  Information packets will be ready to be passed out to our neighbors and friends. 

  Our in-house sign up for the Church Directory photos is now over.  In order to make or change an appointment, please call Olan Mills at 1-800-866-2263.  You will need the MGBC Olan Mills contract number which is 58554.

The Myrtle Grove Baptist Church Praize Kidz are beginning to prepare Knight Camp at Rock Kingdom, "a musical that takes place in Rock Kingdom, a training camp for aspiring young knights, set in a castle fortress." King Jesus is honored and praised in this exciting musical, as we learn how to put on the armor of God and build our lives upon the Rock of Ages.

The Praize Kidz will be presenting Knight Camp at Rock Kingdom on Sunday, May 22, at 6 p.m. All children in grades one through six are invited to join the Praize Kidz as we begin to prepare this musical. Rehearsals are weekly on Wednesday nights from 6:00 to 6:30pm in room 103 at Myrtle Grove Baptist Church.  For more information, please call or e-mail Melissa Westman, 
 

DISASTER RELIEF TRAINING

Disaster Relief is more than hurricanes, tornados or earthquakes. It is an opportunity for service to our community, neighbors, friends and most importantly to God. His expectation is that we love one another and what better way to show our love. There is something for everybody and you don't even have to leave the area. There is more than swinging a hammer, cutting limbs with a chain saw or cooking food. One of the most important things is being an encourager; this is something that every born again Christian can do.

On February 19^th we are hosting two "encourager classes", one in English and one in Spanish. In disaster relief we call it "Barnabas Training." The cost is minimal, $10, which includes lunch, refreshments and the cost of material.

Those of you who are interested in D/R training or returning volunteers please note the courses are likely to be Assessment, Flood Recovery, and Chain Saw Maintenance. We are working on a special chain-saw use training class for Region I at a date to be announced. We need  people with foreign language skills to become involved in DR Mission opportunities. Volunteers need to make sure our Region training date gets on your personal calendars. Region 1 DR training will be at Hiland Park Baptist Church in Panama City June 4th 2011 9am-3pm.  Registration will be 8am-9am. $30 for new volunteers; $15 for returning volunteers.
