ron lentine Greetings!

PASTOR'S REFLECTIONS ON 2010. . .

What a great year 2010 was for the Myrtle Grove family!

Looking back on 2010 my heart is filled with gratitude to God for His divine intervention, provision, and protection over our church.

Some of the highlights of this past year are as follows:

Who can forget the tremendous response from our membership on the heels of our "40 Days of Prayer and Fasting?"  The funds that came in enabled us to provide additional ministries for our children, youth, and young adults.

In addition to those ministries, resources were available for the purchase of needed sound equipment as well as other important ministries.

Along with the financial blessing was the number of men and women who came to know Christ as their personal Savior and Lord.

Many of these individuals were added as new members into the church family.  Along with these salvation commitments was a number of new families (already Christians) who joined our church by statement and letter.

Several of these new members have already plugged in to areas of service and ministry.

And who will ever forget the gift God provided by way of expanding our geographical territory?

After years of praying and asking, the Lord finally delivered into our hands the new adjacent property (three acres of land and buildings) located directly behind our church plant.

This new property holds great potential for the possibility of new ministries down the road.

Our Future Planning Committee is in the process of seeking God's direction for future usage.

Keep that committee in your prayers.

And lastly, I thank the Lord for the new ministry staff that he has sent our way this past year.

Jeremy and Jamie Phillips are certainly an answer to prayer for our students.

Already, in just a few month's time, they have endeared themselves to young and old alike here at Myrtle Grove.

In addition to these precious ones is our new part-time Contemporary Worship Leader, Christian Garabedian.

This young man is truly a God-sent servant that is filling the need in our contemporary worship service.

For all of these things, let us give thanks to God for the year 2010; a wonderful year filled with God's grace and goodness for His people.

With a grateful heart,

Pastor Ron Lentine

THANK YOU MGBC members for your generosity!

The Birth of Jesus
1 In those days Caesar Augustus issued a decree that a census should be taken of the entire Roman world. 2 (This was the first census that took place while[a] Quirinius was governor of Syria.) 3 And everyone went to their own town to register.

4 So Joseph also went up from the town of Nazareth in Galilee to Judea, to Bethlehem the town of David, because he belonged to the house and line of David. 5 He went there to register with Mary, who was pledged to be married to him and was expecting a child. 6 While they were there, the time came for the baby to be born, 7 and she gave birth to her firstborn, a son. She wrapped him in cloths and placed him in a manger, because there was no guest room available for them.

8 And there were shepherds living out in the fields nearby, keeping watch over their flocks at night. 9 An angel of the Lord appeared to them, and the glory of the Lord shone around them, and they were terrified. 10 But the angel said to them, "Do not be afraid. I bring you good news that will cause great joy for all the people. 11 Today in the town of David a Savior has been born to you; he is the Messiah, the Lord. 12 This will be a sign to you: You will find a baby wrapped in cloths and lying in a manger."

13 Suddenly a great company of the heavenly host appeared with the angel, praising God and saying,

14 "Glory to God in the highest heaven,
and on earth peace to those on whom his favor rests."

Luke 2: 1-14

...and that's what it's all about.   Merry Christmas!
