This Sunday morning Pastor Ron brings the message:

Jesus On The Subject Of Faith

          Matthew 8:5-13

           Hebrews 11:6

          Faith brings peace.

The opposite of faith is unbelief.  "At least one indication of unbelief is the tendency  to measure life's challenges against our own adequacy instead of God's promises."

          Author:  Chuck Swindoll

Faith does not run contrary to evidence, faith goes beyond evidence.  Faith does not  ignore reason, but faith doesn't wait upon it either.  Faith is merely a choice to trust,   something we do every day.

Music to our ears....

TODAY THE PERSONNEL COMMITTEE INTRODUCES . . .

the candidate to fill the position of part-time Music Associate for Contemporary and Youth Worship.  That person is Christian Garabedian.

Christian, along with the Praise and Worship Team will be sharing in music in both morning worship services today.

Christian has been serving in a volunteer capacity here at Myrtle Grove for the last five years.

During that time, Christian worked with our former Student Minister in developing a youth praise and worship team on Wednesday nights.

Christian brought his heart to worship along with his love for music  and served voluntarily and faithfully through those years.

Recently, Christian has returned from college in Birmingham and has come back home to Pensacola.

In late August of this year he immediately volunteered to be a part of our Praise and Worship Team for our contemporary worship service.

His skills in music, along with his ability to lead a praise band and praise team, makes him an excellent candidate for this position.

The personnel committee will officially make the recommendation at our business meeting this Wednesday night, October 20.

A vote will be taken by secret ballot at that time.

Please make it a point to attend and cast your vote.

Absentee ballots will be available in the church office Monday and Tuesday during business hours for those who cannot attend on Wednesday.

(The salary for this position does not come out of the general budget funds.  This position is paid out of a designated account, under the line item entitled "contemporary worship."

This money was approved last year for this purpose.)

Kids things...(but grownups should read)

Fall Family Festival

Upward Basketball & Cheerleading

Registration is now open for boys and girls, grades K through 6, to be a part of our Upward season.  Registration fee is only $65 ($75 after October 25th).  Registration forms are available on the welcome table in the foyer.  If you would like to provide a scholarship for a child, please see Ron Pouliot.

Thanks for reading....
Sometime over the next couple of weeks there will be maintenance done on the computer server that hosts our website(s) and MGBC email.  There may be times that the site is down and email to mgbc undelivered.  Exactly when and for how long this will go on is not known today...but a word in advance is better than not knowing...

thanks
