Greetings!
TODAY

WE WELCOME JEREMY
& JAMIE PHILLIPS.
The Student Minister Search Committee has
invited Jeremy to come today in view of a call as our Student Minister.
Jeremy has earned degrees which include a
Bachelor of Science in Biblical Studies from Liberty University; and a Master
of Divinity from the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary.
Jeremy has numerous experiences in the local
church, serving in a variety of areas, which include teaching, outreach, music,
and college student ministry.
Over the
last five years, Jeremy has served with the International Mission Board where
he held positions in Cross Cultural Understanding and Community Development.
Jeremy will be preaching this morning in both
of our worship services, and this afternoon at 4:30pm members are invited to a
question/answer session with Jeremy and Jamie which will be held in the
fellowship hall of our church.
A vote,
by ballot, to call Jeremy will be taken next Sunday, August 8, following each of
our morning worship services.
Please be
in prayer.

Christian Social Ministries
NEXT
SUNDAY, August 8 -- We will focus on our Christian Social
Ministries.
The Lord has blessed us with
a host of faithful leaders and volunteer workers. We will take time next Sunday to honor these
servants and also take a look at the great work that is being done on Tuesday
morning each week here on our campus.
There will be an insert in the bulletin that will explain this ministry
and ways that you could be involved supporting this work. . |
Fun in the Sun...

Missions Prepare To Go

"Missions Speak"
Last week we
asked if you knew the meaning of the abbreviation or acronym -
"UPG"?
This is a brief answer to
a very complex, but vital subject.
UPG is the IMB acronym or
abbreviation for an Unreached People
Group.
To divide the world into People Groups is in of itself a very
complicated matter, but it is one way that you and I can understand the enormity
of our assignment.
An UPG is a Natural
social grouping (People Group) that does not have access to, and perhaps in some
instances have never even heard of the Good News of the Gospel of Jesus
Christ! The IMB designates them as a UPG
if less than 2% of the people of the group are Evangelized Christians. IF less than 2% are Christians, it is
improbable that the Gospel will be spread further without the intervention or
assistance of an Missions endeavor by others.
Eric King, (IMB Missions
Coordination Strategist), says in his recent Newsletters that 6,426 (UPG)
groups, 1.7 billion people, have not
heard of HIM.
Will you, and I, (who are
the Church at Myrtle Grove), answer the call and get involved?
Getting involved in God's
mission to win a lost world should be an ardent desire for all genuine
believers!
There
is a place for EACH OF US to serve. Let us help you to Prepare-To-Go! Keep
watching this spot each week.
