Come back tonight to hear a powerful story from one of God's servants.  Rev. John T. deJarnette will bring the evening message at 6pm.

Bro. "Jack" entered the United Methodist Ministry in 1978.  He has served as pastor in Byrneville/Barrineau Park United Methodist churches and the Pleasant Grove United Methodist Church.

In 1988, he started the Perdido Bay United Methodist Church with only 39 members.  He served until 2008 and was granted incapacity leave due to kidney failure.  He received a kidney transplant last year.  We welcome Rev. deJarnette to MGBC.

"A Call to Prayer"
Jan 31, 2010

To Churches of the Southern Baptist Convention

This will be a time for our church to join all Southern Baptist Churches for a time of *Prayer & Fasting.  Dr. Johnny Hunt, President of the Southern Baptist Convention, has issued a call across the Southern Baptist Convention for our nation and for the churches of our convention.  Note these words from the call to prayer:  "Since God requires humility, confession, and complete dependence on Him before granting healing to a land, it is time to ramp it up a notch by inviting all SBC churches to set aside Sunday, January 31, 2010, to pray specifically for our denomination."

You may donate to the *Haitian Relief through Myrtle Grove Baptist Church.  Make your check payable to MGBC and write "Haitian Relief" on your check or offering envelope.  One hundred percent of your offering will go to this earthquake relief effort!

*NOTE:  Pick up printed information concerning Prayer & Fasting and Haitian Relief on the prayer information table in the main foyer.

Annual Easter Egg Hunt
10 Weeks Away

egg 1

We are only ten weeks away from our annual hunt and we need your help.

We need individually wrapped candy to fill more than 2,500 plastic eggs.

Anchor Club members from Escambia High will once again be helping us fill the eggs.

Since their spring break is the week before the hunt, we will be filling the eggs on Wednesday, March 24th.

Please bring your candy to the church office or to the FLC before March 21st.

If you would like to help at this year's festivities, please let Ron Pouliot know soon.

The Easter Egg Hunt will be held on Saturday, April 3rd at 9:00am.

Deal or No Deal
Praize Kidz

deal
"Deal or No Deal"  "Are You Smarter than a Fifth Grader?" Who doesn't like game shows?

The Praize Kidz are beginning to produce their own musical game show called PaRaBLeLooZa!

It's a musical and game show all rolled into one.

The Myrtle Grove Baptist Church Praize Kidz will be presenting PaRaBLeLooZa! on Sunday, May 23.

PaRaBLeLooZa! teaches six parables of Jesus using a corresponding game and song that make it wildly fun and chock full of biblical truth.

The games are played live, so the winners won't be known until the end of the performance. There are scripted roles, nonspeaking roles, quite a few solos and plenty of opportunities for everyone to "get in the game."

All children in grades one through six are invited to join the Praize Kidz as we begin to prepare this exciting musical.

Rehearsals are weekly on Wednesday nights from 6:00 to 6:30pm in room 103 at Myrtle Grove Baptist Church.

Calling All Musicians...

As we have begun building our new contemporary service here at MGBC, the beginnings of a new praise and worship team have been in the making.

We now have on board some very gifted and skilled musicians and are still in the process of seeking out additional instrumentalists and vocalists that would be interested in joining our band.

If you or someone you know has a heart to serve the Lord through music, is skilled on the drums, acoustic guitar, electric guitar, or bass guitar, and has no problem reading chord charts, please call us about auditions for our praise and worship team.

We play mostly contemporary worship music.

The rewarding commitment of membership on this team enables us to lead people to the throne of God each Sunday morning and meet with Him one night a week for practice.

Please call the church office if interested - 455-7389.
