Prayer Walking
Prayer Walker Training:
Saturday, August 22 at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church.
Schedule: 8:30am Coffee; 9am-10am Prayer Walker Training.
This one-hour training time will be a practical walkthrough of what it means to prayer walk and how it can be done--any neighborhood, any day, with any number of believers.
Prayer walking for our schools - 9:00 AM to Noon (Sat Aug 22)

Special Events Today:
1. Today we will honor past and present leaders of our Nursery/Preschool Ministry during the morning worship hour.
Following the morning service we will have an Open House for our new church Nursery/Preschool at the Preschool Learning Center located in the FLC.
2. Today, you will also have an opportunity to sign up for this next semester of FAITH Evangelism along with other opportunities such as being a Prayer Walker or serving in our Phone Calling Ministry. (See today's insert for more information.)
3. There are information tables set up in the main foyer providing our members with additional opportunities to serve the Lord: Please stop by the tables after the sevice
a. Those interested in being part of the upcoming Praise Band/Praise Team for the contemporary worship service may sign up and receive informational handouts today.
b. Those interested in helping with the Back-to-School Student Rally on September 5 may sign up at the student information station also set up in the main foyer.

 This afternoon - Aug 23rd
Two important training meetings will take place this afternoon, one at 4:30pm and one at 5pm.
At 4:30pm, there will be a special orientation and training session for our Greeter Ministry.
Those interested in serving as greeters for either one of our services this fall are encouraged to attend this meeting which will be held in Room 109.
At 5pm, all FAITH Team Leaders are encouraged to attend a leadership meeting which will be held in Room 105.
TONIGHT following the evening worship service, don't miss this opportunity to fellowship with your church family in a special Afterglow which will be held in the church fellowship hall.

 Faith Evangelism
The 22nd Semester of FAITH begins Tuesday,
August 25, with a kick-off banquet at 5:30 pm in
Fellowship Hall.
The semester will run for 12 weeks, ending on
November 10.
Supper is served at 5:30 pm each Tuesday.
($3.00 donations appreciated )
Training time begins at 6 pm.
Child care is available.
Come be a part of this soul-winning evangelism
effort at MGBC.
There is no charge to participants for child
care.

FOOD PANTRY: Jars of Jelly (20 oz. or smaller) are needed in our food pantry. Please place donations in the drop off boxes located throughout the church facility.

Pastor Marco Smith requests your help
Pastor Marco Smith has requested
that we provide him with some help for an
activity at his church in Bon Secour on
Saturday, August 29th, 2009.
The event will run from approximately 3:00 P.
M. until about 7:00 P. M.
He will need people to pass out drinks, work the
popcorn machine, register people for the event,
and things like that.
Please call Neil Thorsen if you would like to
help out.

If you are going on the October 23rd, 2009 day trip to the "Oak Hollow Farm" in Fairhope, AL, you can sign up and pay Neil Thorsen. The cost is $25.00 per person which includes lunch and transportation. It will be a full day of fun, fellowship, and food.
