BROTHERHOOD BREAKFAST MEETING - Location - Family Life Center -
The breakfast serving line will began at 7:45 AM and the meeting will end at 9:00 AM.
We will have eggs, bacon, sausage, grits, gravy, hash browns, and biscuits.
The cost is $2.00 for adults; no charge for children.

10:30am Worship Service:
The Millennial Outreach Steering Committee, along with the Personnel Committee, will present what they believe to be God's choice to fill the position of Temporary Part-Time Praise Leader for our contemporary worship service.
The candidate we recommend for this position is Andrea Burks (member of First Baptist Church of Pensacola since birth).
Andrea Burks' biography and letters of recommendation will be distributed.
Andrea will sing and share her testimony.
(Vote on this recommendation will be taken on August 23 in a special called business meeting at the close of the morning worship service, without discussion.)
Dr. Al Butler will bring the message. During
our morning worship service our Sunday School volunteers who serve
faithfully every week will be recognized for their contribution to THE
GREAT COMMISSION.A luncheon to honor our Sunday School leadership will follow the morning service. If you have not made your reservation, please call the church office this week to do so. 6pm Worship Service:
The 35-member Men's Choir from Home of Grace, located in Vancleave,
Mississippi, will bring music and testimonies. Home of Grace is a
residential alcohol and drug treatment center offering a spiritual
emphasis with classroom education, counseling, as well as activity
programs for the development of healthy life skills.

Millennial Outreach Committee hosts
TODAY at 5pm the Millennial Outreach Steering Committee will host a meeting in the fellowship hall for the purpose of providing our members another opportunity to get to know Andrea Burks.
Andrea is being recommended by our Millennial Outreach Steering Committee and Personnel Committee to fill the position of Part-Time Contemporary Praise Leader.
During this time Andrea will be sharing more about her life experiences and her vision for ministering to the younger generation.

Keenagers:
The Keenagers are holding a special meeting on Tuesday, August 18th, 2009 at 2:00 PM in the fellowship hall.
This meeting which is being sponsored by Dave Keighley and Bay Breeze Nursing & Retirement Center will inform you about things you need to know should you have to go into one of these facilities.
If you would like to attend or need additional information please contact Neil Thorsen and let him know so we will know how many to prepare for.
If you are going on the October 23rd, 2009 day trip to the "Oak Hollow Farm" in Fairhope, AL, you can sign up and pay Neil Thorsen. The cost is $25.00 per person which includes lunch and transportation. It will be a full day of fun, fellowship, and food.

CALLING ALL MEN: The Brotherhood will be having a men's dinner gathering on August 20 in fellowship hall.
Dinner will be served at 6:30pm.
The guest speaker will be Rev. Jeff Spooneybarger, Pastor of First Baptist Church, Gulf Breeze, FL.
The focus will be on keeping the family together in difficult times.
Reservations can be made by: calling the church office; or write in "MEN" on the tear off on the Sunday bulletin and drop it in the offering plate.
(A suggested donation of $5 per meal will be accepted at the door.) .

Prayer Walking
Coming Soon: Prayer Walker Training: Saturday, August 22 at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church.
Schedule: 8:30am Coffee; 9am-10am Prayer Walker Training.
This one-hour training time will be a practical walkthrough of what it means to prayer walk and how it can be done--any neighborhood, any day, with any number of believers.

nursery/preschool ministry will take place after the morning worship
service next Sunday at the new location.
As most of you know, the new location for this ministry is the
Preschool Learning Center located in the Family Life Center facility.

Faith Evangelism
The 22nd Semester of FAITH begins Tuesday, August 25, with a kick-off banquet at 5:30 pm in Fellowship Hall.
The semester will run for 12 weeks, ending on November 10.
Supper is served at 5:30 pm each Tuesday. ($3.00 donations appreciated )
Training time begins at 6 pm.
Child care is available.
Come be a part of this soul-winning evangelism effort at MGBC.
There is no charge to participants for child care.

School Supplies
Will You Help Share the Love of Jesus?
School
will soon be back in session and many of our area children will need
help in obtaining their school supplies. As in previous years, we are
now collecting school supplies to be given to our "Partners in
Education" at Myrtle Grove & Sherwood Elementary Schools.
Jesus
said in Matthew 25:40, The King will reply, "I tell you the truth,
whatever you did for the least of these brothers of mine, you did for
me"
The following items are needed:
Pencils, pencil-top
erasers, pencil boxes, red ink pens, highlighters, duo-tang folders,
backpacks, white copy paper, kleenex, paper towels, hand sanitizer.
Many of the other items {paper, crayons, markers, etc.} are provided to the schools through the "Cram the Van" program.
Please
bring your school supplies to the Church Office or to the Minister to
Children & Families' Office located in the Family Life Center
before Monday, August 31st .

Note:

Pastor Marco Smith has requested that we provide him with some help for an activity at his church in Bon Secour on Saturday, August 29th, 2009.
The event will run from approximately 3:00 P. M. until about 7:00 P. M.
He will need people to pass out drinks, work the popcorn machine, register people for the event, and things like that.
