Boarding Gate Searches Start Again
The Transportation Security Administration (TSA) announced new plans to restart passenger and luggage searches at the boarding gate, according AirportBusiness.com this week. After 9/11 these searches were common but were abandoned shortly after because of complaints about delayed flights. Passengers were also embarrassed by public pat-downs, “wanding” and having their luggage opened at the gate. The TSA states the new policy is not because of a specific threat, but a renewed effort to keep potential terrorists guessing. Hoyt Livery would like to remind you to prepare for the added time at the airport.
