Reason #10:  Parents can spend $2500 on things other than college tuition and books, i.e. "Attention passengers, we are now boarding Flight 149 for your long overdue seven day, all-inclusive luxurious vacation to Bermuda."   

Reason #9:  Who doesn't want to be like Charlie Sheen, i.e. a "Winner?" 

Reason #8:  The application process does not require a lot of time and can, in fact, be completed during "American Idol" commericals. 

Reason #7:  Got wheels?  Parents might be able to buy their college-bound kid a car if they don't have to cough up as much money for college expenses.

Reason #6:  It's free money!  Who doesn't want free money?

Reason #5:  You'll have more money to buy tickets to see Brittany Spears, New Kids on the Block and the Backstreet Boys in their comeback concerts.

Reason #4:  Don't let a college dream be furloughed like federal workers almost were this week.  This scholarship can help someone get through their freshman year of college, especially at an in-state community college.   

Reason #3:   Filling out the application will occupy some of your free time between now and the Royal Wedding. 

Reason #2:  Martha Stewart thinks this is a "good thing."  And Oprah "knows for sure" that a student can't win the scholarship if he/she doesn't apply.

Reason #1:  As everyone's parents have said at one time or another, "Because I said so, that's why!"
