Vaxservers shipped outOld VAXservers dismantled, recycled; migration of Seattle Public Schools data to new servers is completed

After more than 20 years of service to Seattle Public Schools, the District's antiquated VAXservers on Sept. 15 were dismantled, hauled away and trucked to a Midwest recycling company. The Department of Technology has completed the migration of District data onto faster, more modern servers.

Loyal Heights wins National Blue Ribbon Schools Award

The U.S. Department of Education honored Loyal Heights Elementary as a 2011 National Blue Ribbon School. Loyal Heights was the only school in Washington to receive the award, which recognized 305 schools nationwide for academic achievement.
