Barry D. Gumb, Jr. Scholarship Endowment 
John and Lois Daughtridge 1926-2004       1927- 1967

Lois Steger Daughtridge was a truly extraordinary woman, always putting the needs of others above her own. "My mother did everything from church work to volunteering at the Center For the Blind," recalled her daughter Harriet D. Harris, "She was extremely active in the community." Mrs. Daughtridge tragically died of cancer at the age of 40 in 1967. Mr. Daughtridge passed away in 2004 after a long struggle with diabetes and heart diseaseAlthough Mr. and Mrs. Daughtridge are no longer with us, their memory lives on thanks to the Daughtridge Family Fund. To read more on the Daughtridge Family, and their gracious community efforts, click here!

 

  

2011: A Rise in Online Giving 
 According to Blackbaud's 2011 Online Giving Report, online giving was up 13% year-over-year in 2011.This, and other findings in the nonprofit world, can be found in the Report which is FREE to download online. The Report contains a great deal of interesting data that Blackbaud has gathered from The Blackbaud Index of Online Giving.The Report also contains additional multi-year giving data to provide the most comprehensive analysis of online giving trends in the nonprofit sector. 
These findings may not come as a surprise to most, considering the increase in ease and efficiency of online service tools over the past few years, but we are excited to see a positive trend in donating! 

What the Report includes:
  •  24 months of online giving data from 1,895 nonprofit organizations
  • Online major giving data from 2,397 nonprofits
  • Both online and offline data representing $5.1 billion in total fundraising from 1,560 nonprofits.
Interesting findings in the Report:
  • 34.8% of online giving happened in October, November, and December of 2011.
  •  87% of organizations had at least one online gift of $1,000+.
  • Every nonprofit sector has seen double-digit online fundraising growth since 2009

4 Hour Spinning Marathon Raises Over $200,000
     

The Fifth Annual Pedal 4 Pattison's Spinning® Marathon was held on March 10, 2012 and exceeded all expectations by a mile. The organization, with the help from gratious local sponsors, were able to raise $200,983.00 in just four hours! The event more than doubled their $100,000 goal. 

 

 Pedal 4 Pattison's Spinning Marathonwhich began in 2008, has helped raise awareness and money each year for a great cause. According to thePattison's Academy site "In 2002, the number of children with disabilities in South Carolina was estimated at 52,798 - those with severe disabilities, 6336." Since so many in our area are affected by Pattison's, it is a great thing to see this many people out and "breaking a sweat" for a good cause!
