Winners of the Post and Courier Thanks for Giving Essay Contest

We received 90 submissions for the Thanks for Giving essay contest. As part of Philanthropy Week in the Lowcountry participants were asked to submit essays about some aspect of the community that demonstrates generosity. South Carolina Bank and Trust generously provided $5,000 in award money to be designated to charity by the finalists. Highlights of the Giving Back Awards

 | | Ayoka Lucas with Dr. Charles Darby, the 2011 Jerry Zucker Lifetime Achievement Award winner | The Charleston Music Hall was a buzz as nonprofit donors, volunteers, board members and giving individuals stepped onto the red carpet of the 2011 Giving Back Awards presented by TD Bank. Music by the Charleston Jazz Orchestra entertained guests as Emcee Mike Veeck introduced this year's winners.
