The Beaufort Fund Awards 57 Area Nonprofits
Coastal Community Foundation hosted a video competition February 7th to the 11th for 50 select nonprofits who are previous recipients of grants from the Beaufort Fund as well as other nonprofits that serve Colleton, Beaufort, Hampton, and Jasper Counties. Eight organizations took this opportunity to create videos ranging from funny and musical to heart-felt and emotionally-driven to show what their organization does for the community. Over 1,800 people voted and the winners were announced during the Beaufort Fund Reception on February 18. The Independence Fund/Lt. Dan Weekend was the winner in the general nonprofits category, and the Colleton Library took first place for the past Beaufort Fund Grantees category. Child Abuse Prevention Association (CAPA) came in second while Hope Haven of the Lowcountry took third place. All four of these organizations were recognized and awarded a prize during the reception to showcase the great work they do throughout the community. Visit the Foundation's YouTube page to watch all of the participants' videos. The Beaufort Fund Reception recognized all of the recipients of grants from the Beaufort Fund. This year, $500,000 was awarded to 57 organizations. |

New Offices, Same Foundation
Hundreds visited the new Coastal Community Foundation Center at our February 11th Open House - neighbors, donors, nonprofits, civic leaders, and others - at which the art works of Elizabeth McKeever, 2010 Griffith/Reyburn Lowcountry Artist of the Year, were featured. In a gesture of extraordinary generosity, Elizabeth made a gift to the Foundation of her prize-winning triptych "Perspectives", which now dramatically enhances the new Jerry Zucker Family Conference Room.
