Postcard from Maggie by Margaret Mullis

It may be reaching record heat temps in the area but the
kids at Camp Good Times are still living the cool life this summer. Offering
autistic children between the ages of 5-18 an opportunity to enjoy arts and
crafts, music, swimming, recreation and much more, I happened to schedule a
site visit during a special event day when the fire department rolled up with
its truck, turned on its hoses, and watched delighted kids squeal, laugh, and
shake off the heat under a spray of refreshing water. I won't even mention the shaving cream fights and turning
the hoses on the firemen! |
