| Greetings!
Welcome to the September Issue of Drews Nooze.
It's been a bumper month, probably the best August we have had in many years.
It has meant long days, late nights and longer waiting times for my clients. I apologise for that :)
Many Queenslanders would also know that our weather has been unseasonally hot for winter. So much so, we had a visit from a snake this week.
Its not actually something we look forward to, but living in a semi rural area, it's not uncommon in the summer months. Never seen one this time of year before though.
My wife was in the back yard at 10pm and found herself confronted with a 2 metre carpet python, looking for a feed.
Cathy decided to ring me at work looking for some advice on what to do. Apparently, being a 'Green Guardian', the wife assumes I am a full bottle on that sort of stuff. She was very quickly disappointed.
Suggesting she keep an eye on it didn't go down well either. All I heard was the sound of doors slamming and deadlocks being engaged.
A short time later I get a phone call back telling me it has slithered away without incident. It was, it appears, heading in the direction of my office.
That was not something I was really happy to hear. We have not seen it since, and as long as it keeps out of my way, I'm sure we can co-habit together. I'm guessing it has paid our neighbours a visit though, given the frantic screams coming from that direction recently.
It may be a good idea to watch your step if you pay me a visit. |

Going flying soon? I imagine plans are well underway for most end of year holidays. If you are flying it may pay to read on.
Australians have voted Tiger Airways their least favourite airline conducted by the Australian consumer magazine CHOICE..
The Domestic Airline Satisfaction Survey ranked Tiger lowest, with a 55 per cent satisfaction rate.
Jetstar was rated second-lowest, with a 60 per cent satisfaction rate, while Virgin Blue was the most satisfactory, at 68 per cent.
Travellers liked Virgin Blue's friendly crew, but some found its quirky on-board banter irritating.
Internationally, Singapore Airlines was rated number one for overall satisfaction, with a 78 per cent rating, followed by Emirates, Air New Zealand and Cathay Pacific.
Jetstar was the lowest-ranking airline for international satisfaction, with a 53 per cent satisfaction rating.
Qantas was second-lowest, with 59 per cent, and Virgin Blue third worst, with 65 per cent.
There was some good news for Tiger Airways, as it was voted best when it came to value for money, at 75 per cent.
I suppose people who don't like flying agree with Pappy Boyington - "Flying is hours and hours of boredom sprinkled with a few seconds of sheer terror" (source news.com.au)

Dumb Questions 101
Its been reported that the 261 British diplomatic missions across the globe are getting fed up of bizarre demands for help from Brits abroad, some of whom seem to think the British embassy is an agency for finding lost sunglasses and paying bills.
"If you have a serious problem abroad - maybe you've been involved in an accident, have lost your passport or are a victim of crime - we can help you," said Juliet Maric, the British Consul in Alicante on the Spanish east coast.
"But we can't tell you who is allowed to use your swimming pool, pay your taxi fares for you - or do anything about the exchange rate.
"We regularly get inquiries from people who think we're a one-stop-shop for any problem they might encounter while abroad; this can be frustrating as we need to focus resources on the serious cases that we're there to help with."
Inquiries include;
- One lady, unhappy with the size of her newly-boosted breasts following surgery, asked if the embassy could help.
- A mother asking the Florida consulate to help her teenage son pack his suitcase and give him a lift to the airport as he was feeling unwell.
- calling in consular assistance to find out what ratio of fruit to sugar should be used when making jam.
- A holidaymaker in Italy asked the embassy where a particular brand of shoes could be bought.
- asking for embassy staff to pay a bill when a credit card had "maxed out"
- asking "Can you tell me how to make my naughty son behave?"
"Our embassies are not there to provide weather reports or give advice on unruly children," said consular affairs minister Chris Bryant.
"It's important that British nationals understand what the Foreign Office can and can't do for them."
So, to my English readers, you've been told! :)

I opened my email the other day and found this.
It is always nice to get some feedback from past jobs, you just have to hope its good and not bad :)
Hi Shane, Hope you're well and flat out... Just wanted to share a story with you on van signage. I was in Bris CBD just the other day minding my own business when a guy walks up to me and asks me if I could change some fluoro tubes for him. He has obviously seen my signage to work out what we do. I sold this guy over $3,000 worth of lights. These "easy jobs" have happened quite a few times before and thinking back over the few years we have used van signage I reckon we have sold well over $20,000 worth of lighting products from about $500 worth of van stickers. The return on investment is HUGE, for putting some fancy stickers on a car.... Ps Keep up the great work - I reckon you should put your prices up! It will still be a very worthwhile investment for attracting new business. Regards, Len Goldsmith Fantastic Lighting Pty Ltd Mobile 0412 409 855 1300 65 94 98 Visit Len's Website Here
Thanks Len, I'm glad its all working for you. Once they see how fantastic your product is, I'm sure you will get referrals too.

Thats about it for this edition.
Just a reminder though that September is Prostate Awareness Month. We are encouraged to host a BBQ in support of the cause. Please check it out further here.
Once again the good people at Murrays Coaches have lent their considerable support to this Charity, with 48 buses along the east coast being used for promoting the September event.
Drew's Sign It Pty Ltd printed and helped subsidise the signage costs in an effort to help keep expenses down.
Ron Murray and Murrays Coaches are very good corporate citizens, probably one of Australia's best, and I'm pleased to be associated with them.
Take care till next time.
