Brands Luring Air Travelers
I just recently took two trips where I traveled internationally and nationally
and I observed the impact that all the new Out-Of-Home opportunities at the
airport have on the travelers. Let's start with the fact that the security bins
that we were given to place our personal belongings had a DSW (Designer Shoe
Warehouse) advertising to my surprise. A picture of a pair of shoes was found at
the bottom of the bin beside the DSW logo which makes everyone take a double
look as it appears as if someone had left their shoes in there. A very simple
yet savvy way of branding as the woman next to me actually turned to me to say,
"I need shoes like those", as she now knows where to find them. Other
interesting examples are the multiple electrical outlet pole (sponsored by
Samsung) and a Best Buy electronics dispenser...........

The Caribbean Marketplace, recognized
as the the most important event of the Caribbean region for sales and marketing, took place in
January in San Juan, Puerto Rico in the convention center. In the opening
ceremony it was announced that a memorandum of an agreement between the
countries of the CTO and Puerto Rico was signed with the intention of developing
strategies to promote and improve the access of flights, the cruise market, the
relationship with the United States and the creation of multi-destination
packets, while at the same time sharing information of the travel industry.This is a very important
factor being that the Caribbean is a region that when speaking of advertising,
tourism is the industry that spends the most advertising dollars in the region..............
