INSURANCE CHANGES?
As the New Year approaches, we want to remind patients to please inform us of any changes in your health insurance in 2012. We need to know if you have changed companies, selected a different plan, or have a different ID#, so that we can bill correctly for your visits. Please present your card to the front desk at the time of your first visit after the New Year if you have had any of these changes. We will make a copy to verify your benefits. Thank you in advance for your cooperation.

HOLIDAY CLOSURES

3 Easy Exercises to Help You De-Stress
In our last newsletter, we talked about the role of stress in muscle tightness. Just understanding that stress may be a component of your tightness does not automatically allow you to relax. With that in mind, here are a few ways to de-stress using simple and quick exercises from a variety of sources. Not surprisingly, there is significant overlap in some of the exercises. Brain GymŪ, Psych-K™, and The BodyTalk™ System share variations of the same techniques to calm the mind and create a centering effect. They will help you focus, relax and enjoy your holidays.
The first exercise helps you improve blood flow to the brain, to "switch-on" the entire brain, before any stressful activity such as taking a test or speaking in public.
| |
Improve Blood Flow |
The second exercise in our series to decrease stress works well to calm the central nervous system and improve concentration.
| |
Decrease Stress |
The last exercise is called Cortices. It was developed as part of the BodyTalk™ protocol and is the most important technique in BodyTalk™. With this technique, we are balancing the brain and maximizing function.
| |
Balance the Brain | These techniques are quick and easy, and we suggest that you do them daily. Little by little you get a systematic rewiring of the brain. Over the short term, you will feel more relaxed - over the long term, the benefits can be profound - improving memory, decreasing stress and enhancing overall health to help you enjoy your holiday season and New Year.

Giving to Our Community
These are tough economic times for many people in our community and beyond. We feel fortunate to be able to support those in need in some small way. This month, we are donating $1000 to the Emergency Family Assistance Association, EFAA, which has been meeting basic needs of people in our community since 1918.
EFAA provides food, temporary shelter, and help with utility payments for families in need. This year, EFAA expects that more than 4,500 households - over 10,000 people - will go to them for help with very basic needs. We are proud to be able to support an organization that supports our community in very tangible and impactful ways.
If you are able, please join us in supporting our community by donating to EFAA.
Happy Holidays to all of you and best wishes for a wonderful New Year!
Your friends at ALTA.
