The Right Amount of Follow-Up
 
Hot leads go cold quickly without enough sales follow-up. Long periods with no attention after the first call sends a message to the prospect and the message isn't flattering because it says, "You haven't heard from me because you're not a priority." Sometimes that silent broadcast is a deal killer.
 
Of course, too much follow-up isn't good either. When you're in someone's face more often than they want, you annoy them and get labeled as a time-sucking stalker.
 
Determine the right amount of sales follow-up by answering three questions.  
  • How urgent is the buyer's need to purchase?
  • How often can you bring real value to the buyer by making a sales call?
  • If you don't see the buyer often, what could happen to squash your chance of making a sale?

By consciously evaluating the right amount of follow-up, you sell more.
