Greetings!

Greetings!

This time of year is well-suited for reflecting on the accomplishments of the past year and looking ahead to the coming year and the new opportunities that come with it.

Here at Skowhegan Savings, we are fortunate to mark 140 years that we've been in business and are happy to continue to serve our communities with the same integrity and level of commitment that Abner Coburn established with the bank in 1869. This commitment goes beyond the daily banking transactions made everyday to volunteer hours and contributions our employees make.

We have a dress casual program that raises funds for local charities throughout the year. Each participating employee contributes a dollar for each day they dress down. Those funds then go to a different organization each month. In October, this program raised $480 that will be distributed to local food pantries; in November $320 was collected for community fuel assistance programs. Our various branches coordinate additional giving opportunities this time of year- collecting hats and mittens, toys for children to warm and brighten their holidays, or food for those in need.

We're also in the process of collecting requests for our charitable giving program that focuses on economic development and financial literacy. If you are a member or know of a nonprofit engaged in this kind of work, please encourage them to apply online by December 31st, for this round of awards.

Looking ahead, we've upgraded our online banking services and will continue to expand these offerings in the coming months. Below you'll find information on our eTegrity services and the new Electronic Documents service - safe, secure and easy ways to manage your banking from anywhere, at anytime.

Our branches will be closed on Christmas Day and New Year's Day. We invite you and your family to any of our branches on December 24th, until our 1:00 pm closing time, for refreshments and holiday cheer.

Wishing you and yours a very happy holiday season and a prosperous 2010!
