Beautifying spaces to reflect your personality...your " Signature Style!"

Welcome to the JNdesign Newsletter
Hi Everyone!

I hope you enjoyed your holiday season!  Mine was festive and fun, with a sprinkle of drama...everything a memorable holiday season should be.  And with that, I am happy to begin a new year.

Filled with the promise of new possibilities, January is the month to reboot your life and start fresh; a time to be nicer to others, take your vitamins and get organized!  And, sometimes it's these small changes that help us the most.  I love the "Get Organized" aspect of January.  I always find myself rearranging and decluttering after the holidays, as happy to put the decorations away as I was to put them out. Every year I like to take a step toward being more organized, so I've assembled my favorite organizing tips to help us along.

And if after all is put away and you find that your space just isn't what you'd like it to be...this is the time for a Re-DesignThis is the most affordable way to give your home a designer look.  Using the items you already own, your room will be rearranged to be functional and polished!  YOU choose what you want left in the room and YOU choose what treasures you want displayed...I just make it all look it's very best!  A one day Re-Design is fast and fun...you won't believe the difference!  Click here to read what my clients are saying!

Well, this wouldn't be a proper JNdesign Newsletter without my terrific contributors!  This month I'd like to introduce you to Heather Taterosian, your personal Thirty-One consultant.  For those who don't know, Thirty-one is a maker of fine handbags, organizational pieces, luggage and accessories...definitely worth taking a look!  See below for more information.

Top Organizing tips:

You did it!  You made it through another holiday season!  Now what?!   Here are my top ten tips to help answer that questions:

  1. It all starts with your closets!  When you're unsure of whether you're ready to part with something, ask yourself: What has more value to me?  This object, or the cleared space?
  2. Fine-tune your storage system for your tree trimmings and other holiday decorations.  Go through those bins and get rid of any decorations that are broken, dated or you haven't used in the past two seasons.  You'll thank yourself next year!
  3. Set up a storage system for toys or you may find that this years gifts are either broken or lost by winter break.  I learned this lesson the hard way!
  4. Update your address book with the holiday cards you received this year.  Set address up in your computer for quick and easy address labels.
  5. This is a good time to have your carpets and upholstery cleaned.  Nice and fresh for the new year!
  6. Designate one cabinet or bin to hold all of your holiday dishes, service pieces and glassware.  This helps with set up and clean up!
  7. New Year, New you...Keep healthy recipes and ingredients on hand to help make smart choices easy.  Try epicurious.com for delicious, healthy recipes and to set up your own on-line recipe box!
  8. Clean out the fridge...you'll be happy you did!
  9. Designate a "locker" space for kids backpacks, coats and shoes. (This could be as simple as a hook on the wall).  No more scrambling around for one shoe when the bus is waiting outside!
  10. Take some time and organize your mind!  Writing things down (a journal, a "to do" list or maybe even a newletter :) can help you focus on the task at hand.

I love what I do and my goal has always been to find inspiration in the things you already own.  Whether it's a complete interior design, or a redesign of an existing room, your space is personal and should reflect your personality...your "signature style!".

And please remember, if you or anyone you know is looking for some help pulling together that "great design", I'd love to hear from you!

Sincerely,
