Welcome to the JNdesign Newsletter

Dear Friend ,
It's that time of year again where I like to touch base with all my friends to say "Hello" and fill you in on "what's new" with JNdesign.
JNdesign has been very busy these past few months working on an entire house design! I've been hired to transform a 3300sq foot white walled home into a haven for a busy family of four. So far I've redone the whole kitchen with new countertops, back-splash, appliances, flooring...and the list goes on. I've also tackled the family room with designer furnishings, fabrics, electrons and all the bells a whistles you'd expect to find in a cozy family room. Presently we are working toward making the childrens bedrooms and the master bedroom a retreat for all family members. My client is very pleased with the progress we've made and, of course, all of the design choices! I am looking forward to completion just for the mere fact of sharing my pictures and designs with all of you! It's all fabulous and I can't wait!
Working on this home has inspired me to write this months feature article, "Cross Color Contamination". And, true to my Newsletter form, I have a delicious and easy, holiday appetizer recipe, brought to you by Debra Alicea, Personal Pampered Chef Consultant.
As always, I hope to inspire you to "Re-think, Re-invent and Re-new" all the things in your home. If you know anyone who would enjoy our content, please forward us along!
Thank you and again, have a wonderful, safe and healthy holiday season.

CROSS "COLOR" CONTAMINATION!"
If I've heard myself say it once, I've heard it a thousand times...it's OK to cross colors! The trick is to keep it simple and use complementary colors (colors opposite each other on the color wheel). If you have an open floor plan home, meaning one room bleeds into another, and want a little variety in your color scheme, this is the way to go! For example if your kitchen is open to your family room, why not try a yummy red in the kitchen and a restful shade of green in the family room. To really pull it all together, accent the kitchen with green and the family room with red. Complementariness act on each other optically, constantly enhancing each other. By varying intensities you can achieve soft quite harmonies or intense drama and playfulness, resulting in a scheme that can be quite stunning. I'd like to note that I once read that the work of the Impressionist painters was largely based on the use of complementary pairs. Now you know you can't go wrong!
